INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
TheWirelessCarbonMonoxideAlarm,partnumber2GIGCO3345isa3Vbattery
poweredwirelessdetectorintendedforusewithwirelessalarmsystems.The
detectorconsistsofanelectrochemicalcarbonmonoxidesensorassemblycoupled
toawirelesstransmitter.TheWirelessCarbonMonoxideAlarmcommunicateswith
theControlPanelandcan
sendalarm,tamperandbatteryconditionmessagesto
thesystem’sreceiver.To knowthemaximumnumberoftransmittersthatcanbe
supported,seethe2GIGSecuritySystemInstallGuide.
IMPORTANT: Thisdetectormustbete st edandmaintainedregularly
followingNFPA720requirements.
Thisdeviceisdesignedto
protectindividualsfromthe
acuteeffectsofcarbon
monoxideexposure.Itwillnot
fullysafeguardindividuals
withspecificmedical
conditions.Ifindoubtconsult
amedicalpractitioner.

intendedforusein
ordinaryindoor

designedtomeasure

S3.41temporal4patterninanalarmcondition(fortemporal4 pattern,seethe
followingtable).Inalarm,amessageisalsosent
totheControlPanelandthe
detectorsIDisdisplayedonthescreen.Duringanalarmcondition,pressingthe
detectorshushbuttonwillsilencethesounderforfiveminutes.Themountingbase
installationissimplifiedbytheincorporationoffeaturescompatibleforboth
drywallfasteners(notsupplied)andothermethods.

coloredLED(green,yellow,red)andasounderonthedetectorprovidelocal
visualandaudibleindicationofthedetector’sstatusaslistedinthefollowingtable.
DuringinitialpoweruptheLEDblinksalternatelygreen,yellowthenred.Ittakes
about60secondsforthedetector’sCOsensortostabilize.
Afterpoweruphascompletedandthedetectorisfunctioningnormally,thegreen
LEDblinksonceevery12seconds.
Detector Trouble
Whenthesensorsupervisionisintroublecondition,theyellowLEDblinksonce
everysixsecondsandthereisachirpevery45seconds.After12hoursthepanel
willdisplayalossofsupervisionmessage.
Detector End-of-Life
Whenthedetectorhasreachedtheendofitslife,theyellowLEDblinksonceevery
23secondsandthereisachirpevery45seconds.After12hoursthepanelwill
displayalossofsupervisionmessage.ThisindicatesthattheCOsensorinsidethe
detectorhaspassedtheend
ofitslifeandthedetectormustbereplaced.The
detectorlifespanisfiveyearsfromthedateofmanufacture.
Low Battery Detection
TheWirelessCarbonMonoxideAlarmispoweredbyasingle3voltCR123A
PanasonicLithiumbattery.Thedetectorregularlychecksforalowbattery.Ifalow
batteryisdetected,thetransmittersendsalowbatterymessagetotheControl
Panel,whichdisplaysthedetector’sIDatlowbattery.Inaddition,
theyellowLEDof
thedetectorwillblinkevery12seconds.Thedetectorssounderwillchi rpevery45
seconds(yellowLEDcontinuestoblink)untilthebatteryisreplaced.Pressingthe
hushbuttonsilencesthechirpsfor12hours,ifnoothertroubleconditionsexist.
Replacethebatterywhenthe
chirpsbegin.Besuretoreplacethebatterywitha
freshone.
Constantexposurestohighorlowtemperaturesorhighhumiditymay
reducebatterylife!
Unauthorizedchangesormodificationscouldvoidtheusersauthority
tooperatetheequipment.
Inserting and Replacing Batteries
1 Removethedetectorfr omitsmountingbasebytwistingthedetector
counterclockwise.Removeanddisposeofthebatteryaccordingtolocal
regulations.
2 Toensureproperpowerdownsequence,waitaminimumof20secondsbefore
installingnewbattery.
3 Installanew3voltCR123APanasonicLithiumbattery(availablefromyour
Panasonicdealer)inthebatterycompartment.Followthepolaritydiagram
insidethecompartment!Ifthebatteryisincorrectlyinserted,removegently
withanonconductivetoolandcorrectlyreinsert.
4 Reinstallontothemountingbasebyturningthedetectorclockwise.
5 AfterthepowerupsequencethegreenLEDshouldblinkaboutonceevery12
secondstoindicatenormaloperation.Ifthebatteryisnotinstalledcorrectly,
thedetectorwillnotoperateandthebatterymaybedamaged.Ifthedetector
doesnotpowerup,checkforafullychargedbattery .
