The following contraindications are referred to in the laser literature. These
also apply to the MKW laser shower LDU 8015 PN:
Absolute: Irradiation of eyes
Photosensitivity (light dermatosis)
Tumor patients
Open fontanels, epiphyseal cartilages (long bones)
Thyroid gland hyperactivity
Relative: Pacemaker patients (thorax)
Epilepsy (head)
Pregnancy (stomach, back)
Endocrine organs (thorax gland, testicles, ovaries)
Therapyhindrances: deep x-ray, permanent medication, chemotherapy.
The following must be observed if you wish to achieve optimum success
with the therapy:
To keep reflection losses as small as possible, skin must be grease-free.
The distance between the laser shower and the skin is a few mm,
or direct contact.
Move the laser shower over the skin slowly and uniformly, and only
activate it when it is in the position for treatment.
Only apply ointments, lotions, creams and ampoules when the laser
treatment has been finished.
Clean the laser beam outlet with a cotton pad using 70% ethanol
(med. alcohol) following each contact with skin and when changing
the patient.
The principle of increasing application applies to all treatments. Initial treatments
should not be longer than 2 minutes. The maximum treatment duration/patient is
20 minutes. The laser shower is switched off automatically after this period.
Approximate values for treatment times are 1-3 minutes/20 cm

for dermatological
indications and 2-5 minutes/20 cm

for orthopedic indications. 20 cm

corresponds
to the laser outlet area of the laser shower.
