Subject : RoHS Compliance
To Whom It May Concern:
As we presently understand the EU Directive 2002/95/EC relating to the
restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (“RoHS”), the
following product(s) are in compliance with this Directive:
3M Electrical Tape # 1170
The term “presently understood” used above refers to the phrase “should not
contain” in the Directive which provides no guidance with respect to exact de minimis
threshold) limits which could be present, nor the origin of trace amounts of the prohibited
materials. Such limits have been described in “ELV” EU Directive 2000/53/EC, Annex
II (June 27,2002) with respect to unintentionally introduced metallic impurities: 0.1%
limit for Pb, Hg, Cr(+6); 0.01% Cd. These are the limits which we have used for
evaluating RoHS compliance of our products.
