Chapter 4

Installation

This chapter provides instructions for installing

necessary components of the Accusys RAID system,

as well as upgrades you may wish to install to your

system.

Basic Installation

Before your RAID system is ready to be connected and powered on, you must

do the following:

• Install the hard disk drives.

• Install the Re-drive card in the host server.

Pre-installation Notices

Before starting any kind of hardware installation, please

ensure that all power switches have been turned off and

all power cords disconnected to prevent personal injury

and damage to the hardware.

To avoid overheating, the RAID system should be

installed in a well-ventilated area and in such a way that

sufficient airflow is maintained across the card chips.
