Chapter 6 – Status Indicators

Beeper Activity

Two types of beeper alerts may occur when the system is powered on:

• Long beeps with one second pauses in-between: the controller is

malfunctioning and the host server can not detect the disks in the RAID

system. See “Controller Maintenance”, page 30.

• Three short beeps: the hard drive, fan module or power supply is

malfunctioning and must be replaced. See “Replacing a Disk”, page 29

and “Power Supply and Fan Module Maintenance”, page 31.
