Chapter 7 – Maintenance
When a controller has been removed, the hard disk drives
it controls are not active, and data stored on the hard disk
drives is not lost.
Power Supply and Fan Module Maintenance
The power supply or fan module may be malfunctioning if you hear three short
beeps when the system is powering on. In the event of power supply failure,
the power supply fail indicator LED on the rear of the RAID system also turns
red.
To confirm which component is malfunctioning, view the power supply and fan
module status in RAIDGuard X.
Once you have determined the source of the beeper alert, power off the
system and contact your service provider for a replacement power supply or
fan module.
The power supplies are NOT hot-swappable. Do not
remove or insert power supplies while the RAID system is
powered on and operating.
If no replacement is available for a faulty fan module,
power off the RAID system immediately to prevent the
system from overheating.
The fan modules are NOT hot-swappable. Do not remove
or insert fan modules while the RAID system is powered
on and operating.
