ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS 5.0
User Guide
5 In the Composition window, click a keyframe and drag the path to a new position.
Changing the number of visible motion-path keyframes
By default, After Effects displays motion path keyframes and dots in the Composition
window that fall within a 15-second range from the current-time marker. However, you
can change this default. For greater precision when extensively modifying a motion path,
you can display more keyframes. If you want to speed up screen updates, you can display
fewer keyframes.
To change the number of visible motion-path keyframes:
1 Choose Edit > Preferences > Display.
2 In the Motion Path section of the Display Preferences dialog box, select one of the
following options, and then click OK:
Click No Motion Path to prevent the display of a motion path and its keyframes.
Click All Keyframes to display every keyframe in the window.
Click No More Than __ Keyframes to specify a maximum number of keyframes to
display, centered on the current-time marker.
Click No More Than __ to specify a range of time within which keyframes display,
centered on the current-time marker.
Using Motion Sketch to draw a motion path
You can draw a path for the motion of a selected layer using Motion Sketch, which records
the position of the layer and the speed at which you draw. As you create the path, After
Effects generates a position keyframe at each frame, using the frame rate specified in the
composition.
