A 10 m mobile radio with a continuous frequency range of 28.000 -
29.699 MHz (extendable to 25.165 - 29.695 MHz). Features: 5 program-
mable memories, repeater shift, memory scan and dual watch. The
AE 485 S has a continuous adjustable transmitting power of up to 25 W.
For Thomas Kamp from Cologne it´s been “love on first sight”. He
defines the AE 485 S in the CQDL as a “fun pack for mobile and holi-
days” and says: “ To the further credit points count excellent usability,
moderate size of the control elements, scan, well readable LC-display,
good modulation, microphone with up/down-buttons and tone call.”
Furthermore, he outlined the comprehensible manual, the price, as
well as the fun reaching stations based in South and Eastern Europe,
Israel, South Africa and Brazil.
This 10 m SSB unit works in the frequency mode
from 28.000 - 29.699 MHz with 1, 10, 100 kHz steps.
The repeater shift is programmable up to 600 kHz.
Extension to channel mode with 454 channels (10
bands) is possible to 25.165 - 29.695 MHz, incl. „A“-
channels, display can either indicate channel or fre-
quency. Operation modes AM, FM, SSB with clarifier
for frequency. Operation modes AM, FM, SSB with
clarifier for frequency adjustment, up/down scan,
switches for RF gain, mic gain and tone call. The
AE 497 W radio station disposes of 5 programmable
memory channels, memoscan and dual watch.
