Precautions
• Be sure to disconnect the c able from the (- ) battery post
befor e i nst alli ng your unit. Th is wi ll reduce any chance of
damage to the un it in case of a short-c i rcu i t.
• Be sure to co n ne ct the color coded leads according to
the di ag r am . In corre ct connect ions may cause the un it to
malfunct i on or damage to the ve h icle 's electr i cal system .
• When making connecti on s to the veh icle's electrical
syst em , be aware of th e fa ct ory insta lled components (e.g .
on - board computer) . Do not tap into these leads to pr ovid e
power for th is unit. When connect i ng the un it to t he fuse
box , make sure the fuse for the intended circuit of the unit
has the appropriate amperage. Wh en in doub t, consult
your Alp i ne dealer.
Be su re to co n ne ct the speaker (- ) leads to the speaker
( -) term i nal. Never connect left and righ t channel speaker
cables to each other or to the vehicle body .

Do not block the unit 's fan , thus prevent i ng air ci rculatio n. If
bk:Jcked , heat will accumulate i nside the unit and may cause a fire .

Caution concerning the installation location
Angle of installation
Install at an angle between ho rizont al and 30 °. No te that
i nstalling at an angle outside of th is range will result in a lo ss of
performance and po ssi bly damage .
Mounting the GPS Antenna Inside the vehicle
1 Clean the mounting location.
2 Put on the GPS Antenna mounting plate.
3 Mount the GPS Antenna.

This unit
Do not mount the GPS Ant e nna inside the center
console.
- Mount the GPS An tenna on a flat plane of the da sh
board or re ar tr ay
- Mak e sure the GPS Antenna is not covered
(obstructed) by any metallic surface or object.
• If the GPS Antenna is mounted near the unit , the
reception becomes poo r, and the location of your
vehicle may not be displayed correctly.
- Mount the GPS Antenna far away enough fr om the
unit.
- Bundle the GPS Antenna cable aw ay from the rear of
the unit.
• Some thermal reflection type or thermal absorption type
glass may interrupt high frequency waves. If reception
is poo r with the antenna installed inside the ca r, try to
mount the antenna outside the ca r.
