1. LOCATION:
Install the Diatrol
®
on the supply piping as close as possible to the offending fixture(s). The
Diatrol
®
should be installed upstream of any fast-acting valves. Use the guidelines below to
determine the best placement. Multiple fixtures and long supply lines may require the installa-
tion of multiple Diatrol
®
shock suppressors.
A. On branch lines up to 20’ long.
B. On branch lines over 20’ long.
2. POSITION:
The Diatrol
®
will function in any position. Ensure the nearby piping is supported adequately.
3. ADJUSTMENT
With the Diatrol
®
empty of water, adjust the factory pre-charge to equal the average flow
pressure. For example: if the line pressure registers 65 psig with the fixtures open, adjust the
Diatrol
®
air charge to 65 psig.
4. MAINTENANCE
A professional plumber should check the complete system, including the Diatrol
®
, yearly and
more frequently as the system ages.
