GRADE C
Hewn from the heartwood of a
fully mature teak tree (40+ years
old), grade A teak is of the
highest possible quality. It’s
antibacterial and virtually
immune to rotting.
Between the heartwood and
the sapwood lies grade B teak.
Grade B teak is of lesser
quality than grade A teak and
contains considerably less oil,
meaning it will require constant
protective treatment.
Grade C teak comes from the
outer rings of the tree, which
were still alive when the tree was
felled. It has none of the
characteristics of its grade A
counterpart. It will eventually
warp and break.
