5. Install the O-ring, screen/filter, com-
pression spring, and the O-ring; then
secure with the screen/filter cap.
Tighten cap to 11 ft-lb.
6. Remove the oil fill plug; then pour
recommended oil into the crankcase.
Install fill plug.
7. Start the engine (while the ATV is
outside on level ground) and allow it
to idle for a few minutes.
8. Turn the engine off. Check the oil
level in the oil level inspection win-
dow. The oil level should be
between the low and high marks.
9. Inspect the area around the screen/
filter cap for leaks.
Transmission Lubricant
Change the transmission lubricant at the
scheduled intervals. The transmission
should always be warm when the lubri-
cant is changed so it will drain easily and
completely.
1. Park the ATV on level ground.
2. Remove the fill plug. Be careful not
to allow contaminates to enter the
opening.

3. Remove the drain plug and drain the
lubricant into a drain pan.

4. Install the drain plug and tighten to
22 ft-lb.
5. Pour correct amount of recommended
lubricant (see specifications chart)
into the fill plug hole; then install the
fill plug and tighten securely.
6. Start the engine and drive the ATV
to warm up the transmission; then
check for any leaks around the drain
and fill plugs.
Rear Drive Lubricant
(Utility)
Change the rear drive lubricant at the
scheduled intervals. The rear drive
should always be warm when the lubri-
cant is changed so it will drain easily and
completely.

1. Park the ATV on level ground.
2. Remove the fill plug. Be careful not to
allow contaminates to enter the opening.
3. Remove the drain plug and drain the
lubricant into a drain pan.
4. Install the drain plug and tighten to
15 ft-lb.
5. Pour 150 ml (5 fl oz) of recom-
mended lubricant into the fill plug
hole; then install the fill plug and
tighten securely.
