7. Disconnect clutch wire.
8. Remove ground drive belt.
NOTICE: Route the belt over the top of the
pulleys for easiest removal.
Install Ground Drive Belt
1. Install ground drive belt. See Figure 28.
2. Reconnect clutch wire.
3. Reinstall clutch stop bracket and secure
with two self-tapping screws removed
earlier.
4. Rotate heat shield into position and
secure to unit with self-tapping screw
removed earlier.
5. Reconnect idler arm spring to eye bolt
and secure bolt to unit with nut. Tighten
until the nut is 6.1 cm (2.4") from the
threaded end of the eye bolt. See
Figure 26.
6. Reinstall deck drive belt. See Install Deck
Drive Belt on page 24.
HYDRAULIC OIL
Models 915226, 915227, 915228, 915229
Check Hydraulic Oil Level
See Figure 29.
1. Place unit in service position. See
Service Position on page 18.
2. Check oil level in expansion tanks. Oil
should reach the cold fill indicator mark.
NOTICE: Engine should be cold when
checking initial oil level.
3. Operate unit for about 1 minute and
recheck the levels.
4. Add hydraulic oil, if needed. See Add
Hydraulic Oil on page 25.
Add Hydraulic Oil
See Figure 29.
1. Place unit in service position. See
Service Position on page 18.
2. Remove the cap from the expansion tank.
3. Fill the expansion tank with 15W-50
synthetic motor oil (Ariens p/n 00057100)
or equivalent until oil level reaches the
cold fill line on the tank.
4. Reinstall the expansion tank cap.
