How to Use a Garden Cultivator - Instruction and Maintenance Guide:
1. Safety Precautions:
Wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves and eye protection.
Be aware of your surroundings, and avoid using the cultivator near people or pets.
Familiarize yourself with emergency shut-off procedures.
2. Choose the Right Cultivator:
Select the appropriate type of cultivator for your task. Cultivators are designed for breaking up and aerating
soil.
3. Assembly:
Ensure all components are included in the packaging. Follow the manufacturer's assembly instructions
carefully. Tighten all bolts and nuts securely.
4. Adjust Depth and Width:
Set the cultivator's depth and width according to your gardening needs.
For shallow cultivation, adjust the depth control to a minimal setting.
5. Cultivating Technique:
Walk behind the cultivator, guiding it in a straight line. Overlap each pass slightly for thorough soil coverage.
Tilt the cultivator slightly for deeper cultivation. If the soil is particularly hard or compacted, make several
passes at decreasing depths.
6. Avoid Obstacles:
Watch out for rocks, large roots, or other obstacles that could damage the cultivator. Remove any debris
before use.
7. Maintenance:
Cleaning: After each use, clean the cultivator thoroughly, removing any soil or debris.
Tine Inspection: Inspect the cultivator tines for wear and tear. Sharpen or replace as needed.
8. Storage:
Store the cultivator in a dry place, and if possible, covered to protect it from the elements.
