a)Haveyourpowertoolservicedbyaqualifiedrepairpersonusingonlyidenticalreplacementparts.
Thiswillensurethatthesafetyofthepowertoolismaintained.
Safetyinstructionsforalloperations
SafetyWarningsforGrindingOperations:
a)Thispowertoolisintendedtofunctionasagrinder.Readallsafetywarnings,instructions,
illustrationsandspecificationsprovidedwiththispowertool.Failuretofollowallinstructionslisted
belowmayresultinelectricshock,fireand/orseriousinjury.
b)Operationssuchassanding,wirebrushing,polishingorcuttingoff
arenotrecommendedtobe
performedwiththispowertool.Operationsforwhichthepowertoolwasnotdesignedmaycreatea
hazardandcausepersonalinjury.
c)Donotuseaccessorieswhicharenotspecificallydesignedandrecommendedbythetool
manufacturer.Justbecausetheaccessorycanbeattached
toyourpowertool,itdoesnotassuresafe
operation.
d)Theratedspeedoftheaccessorymustbeatleastequaltothemaximumspeedmarkedonthe
powertool.AccessoriesrunningfasterthantheirRATEDSPEEDcanbreakandflyapart.
e)Theoutsidediameterandthethi cknessof
youraccessorymustbewithinthecapacityratingof
yourpowertool.Incorrectlysizedaccessoriescannotbeadequatelyguardedorcontrolled.
f)Thearborsizeofwheels,flanges,backingpadsoranyotheraccessorymustproperlyfitthespindle
ofthepowertool.Accessorieswitharborholesthatdonot
matchthemountinghardwareofthe
powertoolwillrunoutofbalance,vibrateexcessivelyandmaycauselossofcontrol.
g)Donotuseadamagedaccessory.Beforeeachuseinspecttheaccessorysuchasabrasivewheelsfor
chipsandcracks,backingpadforcracks,tearorexcesswear,wire
brushforlooseorcrackedwires.
Ifpowertooloraccessoryisdropped,inspectfordamageorinstallanundamagedaccessory.After
inspectingandinstallinganaccessory,positionyourselfandbystandersawayfromtheplaneofthe
rotatingaccessoryandrunthepowertoolatmaximumnoloadspeedfor
oneminute.Damaged
accessorieswillnormallybreakapartduringthistesttime.
h)Wearpersonalprotectiveequipment.Dependingonapplication,usefaceshield,safetygogglesor
safetyglasses.Asappropriate,weardustmask,hearingprotectors,glovesandworkshopapron
capableofstoppingsmallabrasiveorworkpiecefragments.Theeyeprotection
mustbecapableof
stoppingflyingdebrisgeneratedbyvariousoperations.Theeyeprotectionmustbecapableof
stoppingflyingdebrisgeneratedbyvariousoperations.Thedustmaskorrespiratormustbecapable
offiltratingparticlesgeneratedbyyouroperation.Prolongedexposuretohighintensitynoisemay
causehearingloss.
i)Keepbystandersasafedistanceawayfromworkarea.Anyoneenteringtheworkareamustwear
personalprotectiveequipment.Fragmentsofworkpieceorofabrokenaccessorymayflyawayand
causeinjurybeyondimmediateareaofoperation.
j)Holdpowertoolbyinsulatedgrippingsurfacesonly,whenperforming
anoperationwherethe
cuttingaccessorymaycontacthiddenwiringoritsowncord.Cuttingaccessorycontactinga“live”
wiremaymakeexposedmetalpartsofthepowertool“live”andshocktheoperator.
k)Positionthecordclearofthespinningaccessory.Ifyoulosecontrol,thecordmay
becutorsnagged
andyourhandorarmmaybepulledintothespinningaccessory.
