Table 5-3: Protocol Definition, General Parameters (continues on pages 64 to 68)
Parameter Description
Open Media on Connect
[IsFSOpenMediaOnConne
ct]
No [0] = Voice channel is opened after an Alert message is sent (default).
Yes [1] = Voice channel is opened after the call is answered and a Connect
message is sent.
After a Setup message is received, the gateway can immediately open a voice
channel, or it can wait until the call is answered and Connect message is sent.
Note: This option is only relevant if you use Fast Start or Tunneling.
Send Media Information on
Connect
[IsFSMediaInfoSendOnCo
nnect]
No [0] = Fast Start Structure response is sent in the Alert message (default).
Yes [1] = Fast Start Structure response is sent in the Connect message after the
call is answered.
After receiving the Fast Start Setup message, the gateway should reply with an
H.225 message that includes media information structure. The gateway can send
the message with Alert or Connect messages. Sending this information in Alert
message enables the remote side to open the voice channel before receiving the
Connect message.
Note: This option is only relevant if Fast Start is used.
Behavior of Progress
Message
[H323ProgressBehaviour]
Defines the message that is sent when a Progress message is received from IP or
ISDN.
0 = Alert message with a Progress Indicator (default).
1 = Progress message.
When set to 0, the gateway sends an Alert message with a Progress Indicator to
IP or ISDN (after the reception of a Progress message from the originating side).
When set to 1, the gateway sends a Progress message instead of the Alert
message.
If the Progress message of the originating side includes a Cause value, it is
passed to the outgoing Progress message without being altered.
Enable Annex D/T.38 Fax
Relay
[IsFaxUsed]
Disable [0] = Disable Annex D/T.38 fax relay (default).
Enable [1] = Enable Annex D/T.38 fax relay.
When you enable this feature, the gateway can send and receive fax messages
using the H.323 Annex D T.38 procedure.
The gateway supports a fallback mechanism in case that T.38 isnt supported.
When fallback is used, the fax is transmitted in-band using G.711 coder. The
conditions for fallback are:
IsFaxUsed = 1.
Fax is detected (either by the generating or the terminating side).
T.38 capability was not declared by the remote gateway in the TCS message.
The selected coder is G.711.
Note: When IsFaxUsed is equal to 0, T.38 might still be used without the control
protocol’s involvement. To completely disable T.38, set FaxTransportMode to a
value other than 1.
Detect Fax on Answer Tone
[DetFaxOnAnswerTone]
Initiate T.38 on Preamble [0] = Terminating fax gateway initiates T.38 session on
receiving of HDLC preamble signal from fax (default)
Initiate T.38 on CED [1] = Terminating fax gateway initiates T.38 session on
receiving of CED answer tone from fax.
Note: This parameters is applicable only if ‘IsFaxUsed = 1’.
