14.3 Changing the PIN code
The registration and deregistration of handsets and numerous other
functions available on the telephone are protected against unauthorised
use by a PIN code. The PIN code can comprise of up to eight digits. The
default setting of the PIN code is 0000". If you change a PIN code, keep
a note of the new PIN code in a safe place. Some telephone functions
are only available after entering the valid PIN code. If you forget or lose
the PIN code, please contact our Service Hotline (refer to Chapter 18).
Proceed as follows to change the PIN code:

Enter the PIN code and confirm
Note: If the old PIN code is entered incorrectly, the process is
cancelled and the message

Enter the new PIN and confirm

Enter the new PIN again and confirm
14.4 Default settings
This function resets the handset and base station settings to their status
on leaving the factory. The default settings cannot be restored without
entering the currently valid PIN code. If you forget or lose the PIN code,
please contact our Service Hotline (refer to Chapter 18).
