15 Multiple Handsets
Up to four handsets can be registered on the base station. Each handset
can be registered on up to four base stations simultaneously (refer to
Chapter 16).
Caution: If four handsets have been registered on your base
station and these handsets should be used elsewhere with
another base station in future, the respective handsets must
be deregistered from the current base station beforehand. If
none of the handsets is deregistered, the four registrations still
exist on the old base station and no new handsets can be reg-
istered on it.
Note: The standardised GAP Standard enables AUDIOLINE
handsets and even those from other manufacturers to be
integrated in the telephone system. In the same way, an
AUDIOLINE handset can be registered on base stations from
other manufacturers as long as they comply with the GAP
Standard.
The following options are available if two handsets are used:
S Internal calls between the handsets (intercom),
S External calls can be transferred from the handset,
S Incoming external calls are received on all handsets.
S Use of the handsets in a baby monitoring" function (refer to
Chapter 12.2).
S Use of the handsets in a walkie−talkie" function (refer to
Chapter 12.3).
Note: If one handset is currently using the outside line, no further
external call is possible.
GAP: Generic Access Profile = Standard for the interoperation of
handsets and base stations from other manufacturers.
