Faults Corrective measures
The handset switches off
automatically
− Place the handset in the base station
for 14 hours. If this does not help, re-
place the rechargeable standard batte-
ries.
Following a charge time of
14 hours, the icon
remains unchanged in the
display
− The rechargeable standard batteries
are empty or defective.
− Place the handset correctly in the base
station, clean the contact surfaces on
the handset and the base station with
a soft, dry cloth.
Display is dark − Caused by direct sunlight, allow hand-
set to cool down.
The caller number display
(CLIP) does not function
− The caller number display function is
an optional service offered by tele-
phone network providers. The caller
number appears in the display if the
service is offered by your telephone
network provider. Contact your net-
work provider for further information.
− The caller has suppressed the trans-
mission of their phone number.
The LED on the ans-
wering machine flashes
− Set the time on the answering ma-
chine (refer to Chapter 17.2).
The LED on the
answering machine
flashes rapidly
− The answering machine memory is
full.
Delete messages from the memory.
The answering machine
does not take calls
− Ensure that the answering machine is
connected correctly and switched on.
− Check whether the answering ma-
chine memory is full. Delete messages
from the memory, if necessary.
