by pressing the relevant key the respective number of times.

This can be used to assign a specific ringing melody to a phone book entry. Your handset
then rings with this melody when an incoming call is received from the corresponding caller.
This function requires the caller number display CLIP (Calling Line Identification Presenta-
tion) facility. The caller number display function is an optional service offered by telephone
network providers. Contact your telephone network provider for further information.

The PIN is a 4−digit number. All PINs are set to 0000 at the factory. Therefore, you should
program a new PIN code for security reasons. After changing the PIN code, keep the new
one in a safe place because it is required for registering and deregistering other handsets,
for example. − Press  for 2 seconds to cancel programming of a new PIN.
Note: If you should forget the PIN code, however, you can reset the phone to its default set-
tings, thus resetting the PIN code to 0000. Attention: All settings are reset and entries dele-
ted! Remove the batteries from the handset. Press and hold  and reinsert the batteries.
Keep the button pressed until the message  appears in the display. Confirm by
pressing . The default settings are then restored. − Press  to cancel the process.
