2. Press the or key to choose the
5:SMS Settings option, and press the
SELECT soft key.
3. Press the or key to choose 3 : Ter-
minal No, and press the SELECT soft
key.
4. Enter the 1-digit terminal number using the
numeric keys. You can also use the or
key.
5. Press the SELECT soft key.
Writing and Sending a New Message
You can create a text message containing up to
160 alphanumeric characters and send it as a short
message, fax or e-mail message.
To send a Short Message:
1. Press the SMS key to display the SMS
menu items.
Or, press the MENU soft key to display
the Main menu items, choose Favorite,
and select 1:SMS by pressing the
SELECT soft key.
2. Press the or key to choose the
1 : Write Message menu, and press the
SELECT soft key.
3. Enter the message contents by using
thealphanumeric keys and press the O K
soft key.
To shift the case, press the # key while
entering text.

4. Select 1:SMS from the options.
5. Press the or key to choose 1:Enter
Number or 2:Search Number.
Result: Enter Number allows you to enter a phone
number manually using thenumber keys. Search
Number allows you to select a phone number
from your Phonebook.
6. Search for or enter the phone number
where you want to send the message, and
press the O K soft key.
7. Press the or key to choose the
SMS option if necessary. The following
options are available:
•Send: allows you to send the message.
•Terminal No: allows you to enter the other party’s
terminal number.
•Notification: allows you to activate or deactivate
the notification feature. When this function is
activated, the service provider informs you whether
or not your message has been successfully sent.
•Public Key: allows you to enter the other party’s
public key which keeps unauthorized users from
accessing personal messages. For details about the
public key, see page 45.
