PART #AVL-308
Instruction Sheet
AVALANCHE Refrigerant Contains 11.7oz of R-134a
(1,1,1,2 Tetrafluoroethane) and .3oz of PAG oil with
stop leak to seal common rubber o-ring, gasket and
hose leaks.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Locate the vehicle’s low side service port. This
port will often have a plastic cap and is located
between the a/c compressor and the evaporator.
It is the only port to which a R-134a recharge
hose will connect. This is a self-sealing can and
requires a recharge hose made for self-sealing
cans. We recommend the AVALANCHE part
#AVL402CS Recharge Hose with Smart Clips for
correct fill. Always follow the instructions from
the device to properly charge.
2. Start the engine and turn air conditioner to
maximum cool and maximum air flow. Close
passenger compartment.
3. Tighten the recharge hose to the top of the
Avalanche can by turning it clockwise. Make sure
it is firmly attached. Shake can well. Connect the
quick connect coupler on the other end of the
hose to the low side service port by pulling the
connector ring back as you push the fitting onto
the service port. Make sure it locks into place. DO
NOT OVERCHARGE/DO NOT VENT. NEVER PLACE
REFRIGERANT CAN ON ANY HOT ENGINE PART.
4. Following the instructions on your recharge
device, add refrigerant while fully rotating the
can from a 12 o’clock position to 3 o’clock
position. If your system is very low in refrigerant
this process can take several minutes. Check vent
temperature often while increasing your RPM
slightly.
5. When you have the correct fill and your air
conditioner is blowing cold, re-seal the can per
the instructions on your charging device. Remove
the quick connect coupler from the vehicle’s
service port. If can is not empty, keep hose on
and store can in a cool dry place. When empty,
the hose may be detached and re-used, discard
the can according to state or local guidelines.
DANGER: STORE IN COOL PLACE NEVER IN
PASSENGER CABIN OF VEHICLE AS CAN MAY
