Configuring the X330WAN
Avaya X330WAN User’s Guide 23
The default DS0 speed is 56 kbps
6Type
exit to return to Supervisor mode.
The prompt returns to
X330WAN-2DS1-N(super)#
7Use the interface Serial <port:channel-group<.ip-interface>>
command to configure each channel group as a virtual Serial interface. Specify
the port number and channel group number to modify.
For example: typing
interface Serial 1:1 configures a Serial interface on
port number 1 with a channel group number 1.
8 Change the encapsulation to Frame Relay if required, using the
encapsulation
frame-relay
command.
If Frame Relay encapsulation was selected, continue with step 13.
Note: After the Serial interface is created, its default encapsulation is PPP.
9Use the
ip address <ip address> <mask> command to assign an IP address
and subnet mask to the interface.
10 Type
exit to return to Supervisor mode.
The prompt returns to
X330WAN-2DS1-N(super)#
This completes the procedure for PPP encapsulation.
11 Repeat step 4 through step 10 if you want to configure another serial interface
on the same E1/T1 port.
12 Repeat step 2 through step 10 if you want to configure another E1 or T1
interface.
13 Use the
frame-relay lmi commands to change the Local Management
Interface (LMI) parameters from their default values if required, or use the
frame-relay traffic-shaping command to activate Traffic Shaping on the
Frame Relay interface. For more information on Traffic Shaping, refer to "Traffic
Shaping and Marking" on page 47.
14 Type
exit to return to Supervisor mode.
15 Use the
interface serial <if-number>[<if-link-type>] command to
enter the Frame Relay Sub-interface context. (For example, typing
interface
serial 2:3.1 point-to-point
creates a Point-to-Point type Sub-interface 1
on port 2, channel-group 3.)
Note: Currently only Point-to-Point Sub-interface types are supported.
16 Configure a Data Link Connection Identifier (DCLI) for the Sub-interface using
the
frame-relay interface-dlci <DLCI number> command.
17 If required, configure a Priority DLCI Group using the
frame-relay
priority-dlci-group <DLCI1>[<DLCI2>[<DLCI3>[<DLCI4>]]]
command.
