11.1 Child Protection: Controlling Internet Access
Child protection is a function with which you can control the
Internet use of individual computers or Windows users. You

Time: you can restrict the duration of Internet use each day
Contents: you can use filtering to block access to web
sites with inappropriate content
Network applications: you can block unauthorized net-
work applications from running

Restricting online time
On a timetable you can define at what times and for a total of
how long the Internet connection may be used on each day of
the week.
For your children, for instance, you can set up the following
time restriction using the timetable:
Monday and Wednesday from 2 pm to 9 pm; no more than 3
hours each day
Tuesday, Thursday and Fri-
day
from 6 pm to 9 pm; no more than 3
hours each day
Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to noon; and from 4 pm to
10 pm; no more than 5 hours each day
