WOOD STAIN & FINISH STRIPPER
NO. 64
PRODUCT INFORMATION
BEHR PREMIUM® Wood Stain & Finish Stripper is designed to remove oil, latex-based, and 100% acrylic nishes such as semi-
transparent stains, solid color stains and clear sealers. It also removes loose wood bers to help ensure a sound surface prior
to staining or painting. Created especially for use on wood deck and siding surfaces.
RECOMMENDED USES:
Intended for use on exterior latex and oil-based coatings over wood.

To Recoat: 24 hours
Dry times are temperature, humidity, and lm thickness
dependent.
• Conduct a small test patch in an inconspicuous area to
ensure product performance.
• Pour BEHR PREMIUM Wood Stain & Finish Stripper No. 64
directly onto surface and apply liberally using a nylon/
polyester brush or roller. Natural bristle brushes or
lambswool applicators are not recommended.
• Due to product thickness, DO NOT use pump, paint or
other sprayers. Product will clog tip, resulting in leaking
and dripping.
• Always keep surface wet by misting with water and
re-apply No. 64 if drying occurs.
• Finish will begin to lift from the surface.
• Repeat process as needed to keep the surface wet during
the removal period.
• Most deteriorated nishes will start to lift after about 5-45
minutes. The coating should easily rinse o when ready.
When the nish starts to lift, scrub the surface using a
sti bristle broom or brush.
• Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose or pressure washer.
When rinsing with a pressure washer, use the broadest
spray pattern while keeping the nozzle at least 24” away
from the surface
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Be sure to have a source for water, hose with nozzle and
sti bristle broom or brush and a product such as BEHR
PREMIUM® All-In-One Wood Cleaner No. 63. DO NOT
THIN PRODUCT. Dampen nearby foliage with water and
cover with plastic drop cloths. Wear protective clothing,
goggles, chemical-resistant gloves, and NIOSH approved
respirator.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint,
you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO
LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN
DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN
SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved
respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with
a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, nd out
how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the
National Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD or
log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
CLEAN-UP/DISPOSAL:
Clean all tools and equipment with warm, soapy water. Do
not dispose of this product down a drain. If spilled, contain
material and remove with an inert absorbent. Dispose of
contaminated absorbent, container and unused product
in accordance with all current federal, state and local
regulations. For recycling or disposal of empty containers,
unused product and soiled rags, contact your household
refuse collection service.
CAUTIONS/LIMITATIONS:
Protect from freezing.
Do not mix with any other product.
For best results, apply when air, material and surface
temperatures are between 40°F and 90°F. Avoid applying in
direct sunlight or to hot surfaces.
Surfaces must be thoroughly dry before applying any type
of new nish, except those nishes that can be applied to
dampened wood.
Allow the wood to dry for a minimum of 24 hours in warm,
dry weather.
Prevent all rinse solution from entering storm drains.
Shelf life under normal conditions is two years unopened.
GENERAL INFORMATION:

CONTAINS: SODIUM HYDROXIDE (LESS THAN 10%) AND
DIETHYLENE GLYCOL MONOBUTYL ETHER. MAY CAUSE
PERMANENT SKIN DAMAGE AND SEVERE RESPIRATORY
SYSTEM IRRITATION. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE
VENTILATION.NOTICE: Do not mix BEHR PREMIUM NO.64
Wood Stain & Finish Stripper with chlorine bleach or with
any other household or industrial cleaning product or
detergent. Mix only in plastic containers. Only use this
product outdoors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear
protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves and eye
goggles. Avoid breathing vapor or mist. If properly used, a
respirator may oer additional protection
FIRST AID: Eye and skin contact: in case of eye or skin
contact, ush immediately with water for 20 minutes. Get
medical attention if irritation or symptoms of overexposure
persist. If inhaled, move to fresh air. If swallowed, DO NOT
induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Give
water to dilute material in stomach. Never give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person.
CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN – DO NOT
TAKE INTERNALLY.
