Once a user is logged in as the administrator, the User and Admin menus are visible. The
administrator has access to all User and Admin functions.
Figure 32 shows some of the Admin menu functions.

NOTE: Only a logged in Administrator may access the Admin menu.
The functions in the Admin menu offer the following options:
System Settings — for setting the user access levels to Open or Login required.
Also for setting the date and time on the thermal cycler
User Management — for adding or removing users and clearing passwords
Email Settings — for setting email server information.
Firmware Update — for updating the firmware on the thermal cycler
USB Thumb Key Test — for testing USB thumb key compatibility
Touchscreen Calibration — for calibrating the touchscreen (for use when servicing
the cycler)
System Backup and Restore — for backing up or restoring system settings from a
USB flash drive
Diagnostic Test — for performing a series or subset of diagnostic self tests on the
cycler (for use when servicing the cycler)
Using Communication Ports on the C1000 Touch
Thermal Cycler
The C1000 Touch thermal cycler has several data ports that can be used to transfer data to
and from the thermal cycler:
USB A port below the front panel — to transfer data to and from a USB flash drive
or to attach a USB mouse or keyboard
USB B computer port on the back panel — for connecting a C1000 Touch thermal
cycler to a computer
Four USB A ports located on the back panel — for connecting up to three S1000
thermal cyclers; can also be used to connect a USB flash drive, mouse, or keyboard
Serial test port on the back panel — for testing the thermal cycler by service
personnel
