On first use only, iron over an old cotton cloth using steps 1 thru 5 below on setting 3 or above (and the Surge button) to remove any protective surface treatments. 1.

For all models, turn the Heat/Fabric Dial to the appropriate setting for your fabric (B). On models without Auto-Off, the light will cycle on and off when the iron is on. Turn the Adjustable Steam Knob (D) to the (light), (medium), or (heavy) steam setting for your fabric as indicated in the puff band over the fabric setting (see B).
