After reconnecting battery, coat battery
terminals and connectors with petroleum
jelly to prevent corrosion. Check that bat-
tery
is
well secured and that battery vent
tube
is
not
kinked or blocked.
WARNING:
Vent
tube must
be
free and open. If not, it will re-
strict ventilation and create a gas ac-
cumulation that could result
in
an
ex-
plosion. Avoid
skin
contact with elec-
trolyte.

CAUTION: Prior to charging the
T battery, always remove it from
the vehicle to prevent electrolyte spil-
lage.

NOTE: Always keep battery fully
charged. (To charge, refer to "Bat-
tery"
in
"Storage"
section).
Suspension
Condition
Visually inspect all suspension compo-
nents including slider shoes, springs,
wheels, etc.

NOTE:
During normal driving, snow
will act
as
a lubricant and coolant
for the slider shoes. Extensive riding on
ice
or sanded snow, will create excessive
heat build-up and cause premature slider
shoe wear.

Inspect strap for wear and cracks, bolt
and
nut
for tightness. If loose inspect
holes for deformation, replace
as
requir-
ed. Torque nut to 10
N•m
(89 lbf•in).

The preload of
front
suspension shock
absorber spring can
be
adjusted
as
fol-
lows:
POSITION

Lowest
Soft riding, smooth trail
Middle Normal riding
Highest
Hard surface
Unhook
ski
leg
boot spring
and
raise
boot
to gain access.
To
adjust,
use
special
key
supplied
in
the
tool box
and
turn spring collar according-
ly.
