10 Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance
To keep your appliance working efficiently for a long time,
it is important to clean and maintain it carefully.
10.1 Cleaning agents
Only use suitable cleaning agents to avoid damage to the
appliance surfaces.
You can purchase suitable cleaners for your appliance on-
line at www.bosch-home.com/us/shop or through our dis-
tributors in Canada.
Brand names
¡ The use of brand names is intended only to indicate a
type of cleaner. This does not constitute an endorse-
ment.
¡ The omission of any brand name cleaner does not imply
its adequacy or inadequacy.
¡ Many products are regional in distribution and can be
found in local markets.
¡ It is imperative that all cleaning products be used in
strict accordance with the instructions on its package.
Avoid these cleaners
Do not use commercial oven cleaners such as Easy Off®

.
They may damage the oven finish or parts. Chlorine or
chlorine compounds in some cleansers are corrosive to
stainless steel. Check ingredients on label. Never use
scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
WARNING
Be sure the entire appliance (including the light bulb) has
cooled and grease has solidified before attempting to
clean any part of the appliance.
WARNING
To avoid risk of electrical shock, DO NOT use a steam
cleaner or high pressure cleaners to clean the appliance.
Penetrating moisture may cause electrical shock.
10.2 Cooktop cleaning and maintenance

Tip:Bosch cleaners have been tested and approved for
use on Bosch appliances. Other recommended cleaners
do not constitute an endorsement of a specific brand.

Unsuitable cleaning agents
¡ Glass cleaners which contain ammonia or chlorine
bleach. These cleaners may damage or permanently
stain the cooktop.
¡ Caustic cleaners such as Easy Off®

may stain the cooktop surface.
¡ Abrasive cleaners.
¡ Metal scouring pads and scrub sponges such as Scotch
Brite®

. These cleaners may scratch the cooktop sur-
face and/or leave metal marks.

ers may scratch the cooktop surface.
¡ Powdery cleaners containing chlorine bleach. These

¡ Flammable cleaners such as lighter fluid or WD-40.
Cleaning the glass ceramic cooktop

Clean Cooktop With Caution.
