o Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and place
the wire where it cannot contact spark plug.

o Use approved spark plug tester.
o DO NOTcheckfor spark with spark plug removed.
Oil
Oil Recommendations
We recommend the use of Briggs & Stratton Warranty
Certified oils for best performance. Other high-quality
detergent oils are acceptableif classified for service SF, SG.
SH, SJ or higher. DONOTuse specialadditives.
Outdoor temperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for
the engine. Usethe chart to select the best viscosity for the
outdoor temperature rangeexpected.
Checking Oil Level
Oil level should be checked prior to each use or at bast
every 8 hours of operation. Keepoil level maintained.
1. Make sure generator is on a level surface.
2. Cleanarea around oil fill. removeoil cap/dipstick and
wipe dipstick with clean cloth. Replacedipstick.
Remove and check oil level.
NOTICE DO NOTscrew in dipstick when checking oil level.
3. Verify oil is at "Fuji" mark (A) on dipstick. Replaceand
tighten oil cap/dipstick.

4. Replaceand tighten oil cap/dipstick.
* Below40°F(4°C)theuseof SAE30 will resultin hardstarting.
** Above 80°F (27°C) the useof 10W30 may cause increased oil
consumption. Checkoil level more frequently,
flOT/CE Synthetic oil meeting ILSACGF-2,API
certification mark and API service symbol with
"SJiCF ENERGYCONSERVING"or higher, is an
acceptable oil at all temperatures. Useof synthetic
oil does not alter required oil change intervals.

Changing EngineOil
if you are using your generator under extremely dirty or
dusty conditions, or in extremely hot weather, changethe oil
more often.
,a, CAUTION Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact
with used motor oil.
o Used motor oil has beenshown to cause skin cancer in certain
laboratory animals.
o Thoroughly wash exposed areaswith soap and water.

Change the eii while the engine is still warm frem
running,as fellows:
