The operation panel differs depending on the sewing machine model. As shown, press down on the spool pin lever with your finger to raise the spool pin.

Remove the spool from the spool pin, and then fold up the spool pin, as shown in the illustration, until it snaps into place to secure it.

Slide the spool onto the pin so that the spool is horizontal and the thread unwinds to the front at the bottom. Memo β When sewing with fine, cross-wound thread, use the small spool cap, and leave a small space between the cap and the spool.

CAUTION β Pull the thread taut and hold the end of the thread straight up.

(For models equipped with the sewing speed controller.) CAUTION β Not winding the bobbin properly may cause the thread tension to loosen, and may break the needle.

CAUTION β Be sure to cut the thread as described.

Then, pull the thread toward you to cut it with the cutter (c). Replace the bobbin cover.

If the upper threading is not correct, the thread may become tangled or the needle may bend or break.

CAUTION β Do not grab the bar to raise the spool pin, otherwise, the spool pin may bend or break.
