BP26 Preamplifiers INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing a Bryston Preamplifier. Bryston welcomes any suggestions you may have, or comments regarding the operation of your amplifier. We consider you, our customer, to be Bryston’s most important resource, and your opinion is very much appreciated.
BP26 Preamplifiers are capable of driving 30 volts into any load of 600 ohms or greater. Do not short any of these three pins together! Single-ended or unbalanced outputs: As with unbalanced inputs, these connectors are gold plated RCA (phono) jacks. They are capable of driving 15 volts into any load of 600 ohms or greater. TAPE LOOP Tape Outputs: The “TO TAPE” outputs are selected by the rotary ‘SOURCE” knob and are provided as a recording output.
BP26 Preamplifiers FRONT PANEL CONTROLS: MUTE/NORMAL TOGGLE SWITCH: Mutes or releases mute at the main outputs, (not ‘To Tape’ outputs), without changing the volume control setting, each time pushed. POLARITY/INVERT TOGGLE SWITCH: Reverses polarity at main outputs each time pushed. (GREEN LED indicates positive polarity, YELLOW LED indicates inverse polarity). VOLUME CONTROL: Rotary control varies the output level to the ‘MAIN OUTPUTS’, (does not effect ‘TO TAPE’ outputs).

REMOTE TRIGGER OUTput PINS A 12Vdc signal will be present on the OUT pins of the Remote Trigger Connector whenever the MPS2 is activated. This control signal can be used to operate other equipment with suitable remote control inputs, such as Bryston SST series power amps.
The MPS2 power supply can power several different Bryston products. Different products, however, may require different power supply interconnect cables, such as those shown shown below. It is important to use the correct power supply cable. WARNING! The connector terminals of main outputs 1, 2, 3 & 4 on the MPS2 power supply rear panel are HAZARDOUS LIVE and present a risk of electric shock. Use only preassembled power interconnect cables provided by Bryston for connection of these terminals.
REPLACING FUSES IN THE MPS2 POWER SUPPLY CAUTION: These service instructions are for use by qualified service personnel only. To reduce the risk of electric shock do not perform any servicing other than that contained in the operating instructions unless you are qualified to do so. All fuses are 5mm x 20mm, time lag type and are accessible only by removing the top cover. When replacing fuses, disconnect the power cord before opening the unit! Recommended replacement fuses: 100V~ models: T 2.
