Operating guidelines
If you activate the speed control you must enter a value stating the
speed from which you would like to be warned by the HFCK. Values
below 10 are not accepted and values from 10 are automatically raised
to the value 20. Entries above 250 are automatically rounded down to
that value. This function is helpful if e.g. you are travelling on European
motorways and do not want to exceed continuous maximum speed
speeds.
Example: There is a speed limit of 120 km/h and you set the speed
control to 130 km/h. When this speed is exceeded, you will then receive
a visual and – if activated in the sub-point Warning Tone - an acoustic
warning. Unlike the digital speedometer, the warning appears in all
menus, via an information window.
Under the menu point Units you can choose between a traditional (in
miles) and metric (in kilometres) display. Display in metres is pre-set
and applicable for most countries. If you use the HFCK e.g. in the USA,
then the setting is to be changed.
The menu point Speed limits is only visible if you have activated this
function and rerecorded data onto the hands-free car kit via the BURY
Time Suite, the software for managing the electronic log. You then
have the option of activating the function permanently or only for the
present journey.
The function warns you of blind sections of road and accident black-
spots e.g. at schools and crossings that are monitored by radar cam-
eras. The purpose of the warning is to refocus your attention more
strongly upon the current traffic situation, and if necessary adjust your
speed, thereby increasing your safety and that of other road users.
Important:
Please ensure you pay attention to and comply with the X
road traffic laws and regulations which are in force in the
countries in which you want to use this software!
Here too, there is a sub-menu for setting the warning tone. This can be
deactivated, sound individually or rising dynamically in number, the
closer one comes to the respective hazard zone. The data is included in
the DVD provided with the kit. Updates can be obtained from the Inter-
net site www.scbd.info of the supplier Eifrig Media.
