PMP 450 Planning Guide
Regulatory planning
This section describes how to plan PMP 450 links to conform to the regulatory restrictions that apply in the
country of operation.
It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the PMP product is operated in accordance with local
regulatory limits.
Contact the applicable radio regulator to find out whether or not registration of the PMP network is required.
Obeying Regulatory limits
The local regulator may restrict frequency usage and channel width, and may limit the amount of conducted or
radiated transmitter power. Some countries impose conducted power limits on products operating in the 2.4
GHz, 3.5GHz, 3.6GHz, 5.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands. For detailed information, see Compliance with radio
regulations on page 3-16.
Conforming to the limits
Ensure the system is configured to conform to local regulatory requirements by setting the appropriate
Country Code setting on the APs and SMs in the network. When using connectorized APs with external
antennas, the regulations may require the maximum transmit power to be reduced. To ensure that regulatory
requirements are met for connectorized installations, see Calculating maximum power level for connectorized
AP units on page 1-93.
