Introduction What You Can Do Using the Wireless Functions This camera’s wireless functions let you perform a range of tasks wirelessly, from sending images to Web services and other cameras to controlling the camera remotely, simply by connecting to a Wi-Fi network or other device supporting this camera’s wireless functions.
Introduction (1) q Connect to a smartphone (p.27, 77, 89) Connect the camera to a smartphone or tablet wirelessly and use the dedicated application “Camera Connect” to operate the camera remotely or view images stored in the camera. In this manual and on the camera’s LCD monitor, “smartphone” refers to smartphones and tablets. (2) z Transfer images between cameras (p.37, 103) Wirelessly connect this camera and other Canon cameras with built-in wireless functions and transfer images between them.
Introduction Easy Connection Using the NFC Function This camera supports NFC* which enables you to set up a connection between the camera and a smartphone or Connect Station (sold separately) easily. For details, see page 22. * Near Field Communication Note that Canon cannot be held liable for any loss or damage from erroneous wireless communication settings for using the camera. In addition, Canon cannot be held liable for any other loss or damage caused by use of the camera.
Conventions Used in this Manual In this manual, the terms “wireless” and “wireless LAN” are used as general terms for Wi-Fi and Canon’s original wireless functions. The term “access point” indicates wireless LAN terminals (wireless LAN access points, wireless LAN routers, etc.) that relay wireless LAN connection. The camera does not come with an interface cable. Icons in this Manual <6> : Indicates the Main Dial. <5> : Indicates the Quick Control Dial.
Structure of This Manual This manual consists of the following five sections: “Getting Started”, “Easy Connection”, “Advanced Connection”, “When Connected”, and “Reference”. After preparing to connect in “Getting Started”, follow the diagram below and see the corresponding pages according to your needs. Operation Flowchart This section explains how to register a nickname (for identification) and the basic operation of the wireless functions. Follow the procedures below. Register a nickname. (p.14) Set the camera’s nickname. Enter any characters between 1 to 10 characters in length, such as your name. Be sure to set a nickname as otherwise you cannot set the wireless functions. Set [Wi-Fi/NFC] to [Enable]. (Steps 1 to 3 on page 17) Display the [Wi-Fi function] screen.
1 Preparation and Basic Operation This chapter describes how to register a nickname (for identification) necessary for using the camera’s wireless functions and the basic operations.
Registering a Nickname First, set the camera’s nickname (for identification). When the camera is connected to another device wirelessly, the nickname will be displayed on the device. Be sure to set a nickname as otherwise you cannot set the wireless functions. 1 Select [Wireless communication settings]. Under the [51] tab, select [Wireless communication settings], then press <0>. 2 Select [Nickname]. When this setting is selected for the first time, a screen to register a nickname is displayed.

Select [OK] on the confirmation dialog and press <0> to return to the menu screen. Since the nickname is mandatory information, you cannot delete all the characters. By default, the camera name will be displayed for the nickname.

Moving the cursor Press the keys in the top area to move the cursor. Entering text In the bottom area, press the or keys to select a character, then press <0> to enter it. You can check how many characters you have entered, and how many more can be entered, by referring to [*/*] on the upper right of the screen.
Basic Operation and Settings The basic operation for using the camera’s wireless functions is explained here. Follow the procedures below. 1 Select [Wireless communication settings]. Under the [51] tab, select [Wireless communication settings], then press <0>. 2 Select [Wi-Fi/NFC]. [Enable]. 3 Select When a nickname (for identification) is not registered, a registration screen is displayed. See page 14 to register a nickname. [Wi-Fi function] is now selectable. 4 Select [Wi-Fi function].

Basic Operation and Settings [Wi-Fi function] The following Wi-Fi functions are available: Transfer images between cameras Connect to smartphone Remote control (EOS Utility) Print from Wi-Fi printer View images on DLNA devices Upload to Web service [Send images to smartphone] While the camera is connected to a smartphone, use this function to send images stored in the camera to the smartphone. [Nickname] Register or change the nickname.
Basic Operation and Settings When multiple exposures, video snapshot, or time-lapse movie is set, you cannot select [51: Wireless communication settings]. Interface Cable Connection Cautions During a wireless LAN connection, you cannot use the camera by connecting it to Connect Station, a computer, a GPS receiver, or another device with a cable. Terminate the connection before connecting a cable.
Basic Operation and Settings Wireless Connection Status Wireless connection status can be checked on the camera’s LCD monitor and LCD panel.
NFC Function Using an NFC-enabled smartphone or Connect Station enables you to do the following: Touch a smartphone to the camera to easily connect them wirelessly (p.29). While playing back images on the camera, touch a smartphone to the camera to send a captured image to the smartphone (p.93). Hold the camera close to Connect Station (sold separately) to easily connect them wirelessly (p.42). When using the NFC function, follow the steps below to set the camera’s NFC setting. 1 Select [Wi-Fi/NFC].

NFC Function Cautions This camera cannot be connected to other NFC-enabled cameras or printers using the NFC function.
Preparation for Smartphones To use [q] (Connect to smartphone), a smartphone on which iOS or Android is installed is necessary. In addition, the dedicated application Camera Connect (free of charge) must be installed on the smartphone. Camera Connect can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. For the operating system versions supported by Camera Connect, refer to the download site of Camera Connect.

2 Easy Connection to a Smartphone Connecting the camera to a smartphone enables you to do the following: • View images stored in the camera on a smartphone or save viewed images to a smartphone. • Operate the camera to take a picture or change camera settings using a smartphone. • Send images to a smartphone from the camera. This section explains how to connect the camera directly to a smartphone. Install Camera Connect on the smartphone before setting up a connection (p.24).
Connection Method When the smartphone is NFC-enabled: See page 29. You can easily set up a connection using the NFC function. When the smartphone is not NFC-enabled: See page 32. Set up a connection by selecting [Easy connection]. Smartphones labeled with the p mark are NFC-enabled. Some smartphones are not labeled with the p mark even if they are NFCenabled; if you do not know whether your smartphone is NFC-enabled, contact the manufacturer of the smartphone.
Connecting Automatically with the NFC Function Connect the camera and a smartphone using the NFC function. The operation flow for connecting via NFC is as follows. (1) Turn on the camera and smartphone. (2) Enable the NFC function on the camera and smartphone. (3) Touch the smartphone to the camera so that they come into contact with each other. For the camera’s NFC setting, see page 22.
Connecting Automatically with the NFC Function to the camera. 3 Connect When a connection is established, The device name set on Camera Connect the screen on the left will appear on the camera’s LCD monitor. When connecting to the same smartphone, this screen will not appear again. To specify viewable images, press the button. See step 5 on page 100 to set them. Select [OK] and press <0>. After a message is displayed, the [qWi-Fi on] screen will appear.
Connecting Automatically with the NFC Function If necessary, also read “NFC Function Cautions” (p.23). When touching the smartphone to the camera, be careful not to drop the camera or smartphone. Do not touch the smartphone to the camera with too much force. Doing so can scratch the camera or smartphone. Just holding the smartphone close to the mark may not establish a connection. Be sure to touch the mark with the smartphone so that they come into contact with each other.
Connecting with Easy Connection The camera and a smartphone can be directly connected wirelessly. No access point is necessary, so you can establish a wireless connection easily. To establish connection, operations on the smartphone are required. For details, refer to the smartphone’s instruction manual. Operation on the Camera-1 1 Select [Wireless communication settings]. The main window of Camera Connect will be displayed on the smartphone.
3 Easy Connection Between Cameras This section explains how to connect this camera and other Canon cameras with built-in wireless functions easily. Wireless connection is possible for Canon cameras with built-in wireless functions released in and after 2012 supporting image transfer between cameras. Note that the camera cannot be connected to Canon camcorders, even if they have built-in wireless functions.
Connecting to a Camera Register the target camera to connect to wirelessly. The camera can be connected to only one camera at a time. 1 Select [Wireless communication settings]. Under the [51] tab, select [Wireless communication settings], then press <0>. [Wi-Fi function]. 2 Select Set [Wi-Fi/NFC] to [Enable], then select [Wi-Fi function]. Note that GPS information is not displayed on the camera’s playback screen even if GPS information is appended to the received image. Shooting locations can be viewed on a virtual map, using Map Utility (EOS software).
4 Easy Connection to Connect Station Connect Station (sold separately) is a device that allows you to import captured still photos and movies for viewing on your TV set, smartphone, etc., or sharing them over a network. You can easily save still photos and movies to Connect Station by holding this camera close to Connect Station.
Saving Images This section explains how to connect the camera and Connect Station (sold separately) wirelessly. To save images in other ways, refer to the Connect Station Instruction Manual. Set up the camera to allow use of its NFC function in advance (p.22). the NFC function on the 1 Enable camera (p.22). the camera close to Connect 2 Hold Station. NFC connect point Turn on the camera and Connect Station, then hold the camera’s p mark close to the Connect Station’s NFC connect point.
Saving Images If necessary, also read “NFC Function Cautions” (p.23). While saving images, a picture cannot be taken even if the camera’s shutter button is pressed. Do not drop the camera on Connect Station or touch the camera to it with too much force. Doing so may damage Connect Station's internal hard disk. If the camera is not recognized right away, try holding it close to Connect Station and slowly moving it or rotating it horizontally.
5 Easy Connection to EOS Utility This section explains how to connect the camera directly to a computer. Install EOS Utility on the computer before setting up a connection. To connect using a Wi-Fi access point or connect manually in camera access point mode, see “Advanced Connection” (p.55). Settings may be disabled when an older version of software is used. Install a version of EOS Utility that is compatible with this camera.
Connecting with Easy Connection The camera and a computer can be directly connected wirelessly. No access point is necessary, so you can establish a wireless connection easily. To establish a connection, operations on the computer are required. For details, refer to the computer’s instruction manual. The configuration procedure is as follows, using Windows 8.1 as an example. Operation on the Camera-1 1 Select [Wireless communication settings].

In the wireless settings of the computer to be used, select the SSID (network name) displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor. Connecting with Easy Connection to the camera. 10 Connect When the camera detects the computer on which you clicked [Connect] in step 8, the screen on the left is displayed. Select [OK] and press <0>. The [DWi-Fi on] screen will appear. To return to the menu, press the button. The settings for connecting to EOS Utility are now complete. 6 Easy Connection to a Printer This section explains how to connect the camera directly to a printer. Connection is possible for wireless compatible printers supporting PictBridge (Wireless LAN). To connect using a Wi-Fi access point or connect manually in camera access point mode, see “Advanced Connection” (p.55). When in , , , , , or mode, when HDR shooting is set, or when Multi Shot Noise Reduction is set, the camera cannot be connected to a printer.

Preparation for Web Services Signing Up as a CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Member To send images to Web services, you need to sign up as a CANON iMAGE GATEWAY member (free of charge). Once you are a CANON iMAGE GATEWAY member, you can publish photos you took in online albums and use a range of services. This website also serves as a platform for sharing images on registered Web services. Connect to the Internet from a computer or other device, access the Canon website (www.canon.
Preparation for Web Services Configuring Settings to Use Web Services Start EOS Utility on the computer, log in to CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, then configure the camera’s settings to enable access to Web services. For details, refer to the EOS Utility Instruction Manual. For how to obtain the EOS Utility Instruction Manual, refer to the Camera Instruction Manual. The general procedure for sending images to a Web service is as follows. 1 Install EOS Utility on a computer.
7 Connecting by Selecting a Network This section mainly explains how to connect using a WiFi access point.
Checking the Type of Access Point To start with, check if the access point supports WPS* that allows easy connection between Wi-Fi devices. If you do not know if the access point you use is WPS-compatible, refer to the access point instruction manual or other documentation. * Wi-Fi Protected Setup When WPS is supported The following two connection methods are available. Connection can be established easier with WPS (PBC mode). • Connecting via WPS (PBC mode): Perform the operations described on page 63.
Connecting via WPS (PBC Mode) This is a connection mode available when using an access point compatible with WPS. In pushbutton connection mode (PBC mode), the camera and the access point can be connected simply by pressing the WPS button on the access point. If multiple access points are active in the surrounding area, it may be more difficult to establish a connection. In such a case, try using [WPS (PIN mode)] to establish a connection.

Connecting via WPS (PIN Mode) This is a connection mode available when using an access point compatible with WPS. In PIN code connection mode (PIN mode), an 8digit identification number specified on the camera is set at the access point to establish a connection. Even if there are multiple access points active in the surrounding area, a relatively reliable connection can be established using this shared identification number. It may take approx. one minute to establish a connection.

Connecting to a Detected Network Manually Entering the Access Point Encryption Key Enter the encryption key (password) specified for the access point. For details on the specified encryption key, refer to the access point’s instruction manual. The screens displayed in steps 6 to 8 below vary depending on the authentication and encryption specified for the access point. Connecting to a Detected Network Manually Send To Screen When [m] is selected in [Wi-Fi function], a screen to select a destination may be displayed depending on the type or settings of the Web service you select. To register destinations or to specify the settings, you must use a computer. For more information, refer to the EOS Utility Instruction Manual. When [m] (Email) or other service is selected on the [Upload to Web service] screen, the [Send to] screen may be displayed.
8 Wi-Fi Connection to a Smartphone This section explains how to connect the camera to a smartphone via a Wi-Fi access point. The instructions in this chapter are continued from Chapter 7. Install Camera Connect on the smartphone before setting up a connection (p.24). These instructions should be followed only after the smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi access point. For information about settings and configuration, refer to the documentation provided with each device or contact the manufacturer.
Connecting to a Smartphone These instructions are continued from Chapter 7. To establish connection, operations on the smartphone are required. For details, refer to the smartphone’s instruction manual. Operation on the Smartphone 1 Start Camera Connect on the smartphone. 9 Wi-Fi Connection to EOS Utility This section explains how to connect the camera to a computer via a Wi-Fi access point. The instructions in this chapter are continued from Chapter 7. Install EOS Utility on the computer before setting up a connection. These instructions should be followed only after the computer with EOS Utility installed is connected to a Wi-Fi access point.
Connecting to EOS Utility These instructions are continued from Chapter 7. To establish a connection, operations on the computer are required. For details, refer to the computer’s instruction manual. The configuration procedure is as follows, using Windows 8.1 as an example. Operation on the Camera-1 1 Select [OK]. Select [OK] and press <0>. The following message is displayed. “******” represents the last six digits of the MAC address of the camera to be connected.
Connecting to EOS Utility [Connect] on the computer. 4 Click Select the camera to connect to, then click [Connect]. If multiple cameras are displayed, identify the camera to connect to by its MAC address displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor. The MAC address can also be checked on the [View info] screen (p.142). 11 Connecting to a Smartphone Connecting the camera to a smartphone enables you to do the following: • View images stored in the camera on a smartphone or save viewed images to a smartphone. • Operate the camera to take a picture or change camera settings using a smartphone. • Send images to a smartphone from the camera.
Operating the Camera Using a Smartphone You can use a smartphone with Camera Connect installed to view images stored in the camera and shoot remotely. Camera Connect Main Window The main functions of Camera Connect are described below. Touch the screen to learn the operation procedures. [Images on camera] Images stored in the camera can be viewed. Images stored in the camera can be saved on a smartphone. Operations such as deletion can be performed on images stored in the camera.
Operating the Camera Using a Smartphone Terminating the Connection To terminate the connection, perform either of the following operations. On the smartphone’s Camera Connect screen, tap [t]. On the camera’s [qWi-Fi on] screen, select [Disconnect,exit]. If the [qWi-Fi on] screen is not displayed, select the [51] tab 9 [Wireless communication settings] 9 [Wi-Fi function]. Select [Disconnect,exit], then select [OK] on the confirmation dialog to terminate the connection.
Operating the Camera Using a Smartphone When the wireless connection is terminated while recording a movie with remote shooting, the camera responds as follows: • When the Live View shooting/Movie shooting switch is set to , movie shooting continues. • When the Live View shooting/Movie shooting switch is set to , movie shooting stops. When the Live View shooting/Movie shooting switch is set to and the movie mode is set by operating Camera Connect, you cannot shoot by operating the camera.
Sending Images to a Smartphone Operate the camera to send images to a smartphone. The following three send methods are available: (1) While playing back an image, connect to a smartphone using the NFC function (p.93). (2) During a wireless connection, select [Send images to smartphone] from the camera menu (p.94). (3) During a wireless connection, send images from the Quick Control screen during playback (p.95).

If you have sent images from the menu or Quick Control, the previous screen will reappear. The connection will not be terminated. If necessary, also read “NFC Function Cautions” (p.23).
Specifying Viewable Images You can specify images viewable from a smartphone by operating the camera. Images can be specified during connection settings or after the connection is terminated. 1 Select [Wi-Fi function]. Set [Wi-Fi/NFC] to [Enable], then select [Wi-Fi function]. 2 Select [q]. 3 Select [Review/change settings]. 4 Select [Viewable imgs]. Remote shooting cannot be performed if [Viewable imgs] is set to any setting other than [All images].

12 Transferring Images Between Cameras Images can be transferred between Canon cameras with built-in wireless functions. Still photos can be transferred only if their file format is JPEG. For movies, a send error may occur or the sent movies may not be played back depending on the target camera's functionality and file format of the movies. (MP4-format movies cannot be sent to cameras that are not compatible with playback of MP4format movies.

13 Operating Remotely Using EOS Utility You can perform remote operation using EOS Utility wirelessly. In addition to remote shooting, various camera operations are available because wireless communications are used instead of an interface cable.

Select [Disconnect,exit], then select [OK] on the confirmation dialog to terminate the connection.
14 Printing Images Using a Wi-Fi Printer You can print images by wirelessly connecting the camera to a printer supporting PictBridge (Wireless LAN).

Certain printers cannot imprint the file number.
Print Settings Specify settings for printing as necessary. The screen display and setting options will differ depending on the printer. Some settings may not be available. For details, refer to the printer’s instruction manual. Print setting screen Sets the printing effects (p.117). Sets the date or file number imprinting to on or off (p.118). Sets the quantity to be printed (p.118). Sets the print area (p.119). Sets the paper size, type, and layout (p.116). Returns to the image selection screen.
Print Settings Q Setting the Paper Size Select the size of the paper loaded in the printer, then press <0>. The paper type screen will appear. Y Setting the Paper Type Select the type of the paper loaded in the printer, then press <0>. The page layout screen will appear. U Setting the Page Layout Select the page layout, then press <0>. The print setting screen will reappear. Bordered Prints with white borders along the edges. Borderless Prints with no borders.
Print Settings Setting the Printing Effects (Image Optimization) Contents displayed on the screen vary depending on the printer. Select the option, then press <0>. Select the desired printing effect, then press <0>. Printing Effect Description EOn Prints with the printer’s standard colors. The image’s Exif data is used to make automatic corrections. EOff No automatic correction is applied. ERed-Eye1 Effective in flash images where the subject has red eye.
Print Settings Setting the Date/File Number Imprinting Select [I], then press <0>. Set the print settings as desired, then press <0>. Setting the Number of Copies Select [R], then press <0>. Set the number of copies, then press <0>. The [Default] setting for printing effects and other options are the printer’s own default settings as set by the printer’s manufacturer. Refer to the printer’s instruction manual to find out what the [Default] settings are.
Print Settings Cropping the Image You can crop the image and print only an enlarged version of the cropped portion, as if the image is recomposed. Set the cropping right before printing. If you change the print settings after setting the cropping, you may have to set the cropping again before printing. 1 On the print setting screen, select [Cropping]. 2 Set the cropping frame size, position, and aspect ratio. The image area within the cropping frame will be printed.
Print Settings Depending on the printer, the cropped image area may not be printed as you specified. The smaller you make the cropping frame, the grainier the picture will look in the print. Check the camera’s LCD monitor while cropping the image. Handling Printer Errors If printing does not resume after you resolve a printer error (no ink, no paper, etc.) and select [Continue], operate the buttons on the printer to resume printing.
15 Viewing Images Using a Media Player Images on a card in the camera can be viewed on a TV set via a Wi-Fi access point. This function requires a DLNA*-compatible TV set, game machine, smartphone, or other media player. In this manual, the term “media player” is used to refer to any such device. * DLNA: Digital Living Network Alliance These instructions should be followed only after the DLNA-compatible TV set or other device used is connected to an access point.
Displaying Images on a TV set Images on the card in the camera can be displayed on a TV set using a media player. Note that RAW images and movies cannot be displayed. The viewing operations must be performed on the media player. For details, refer to the media player’s instruction manual. 1 Display the media player settings screen on your TV set. Using the media player functions, Canon EOS **> display the < (media player) icon on the TV set.
Displaying Images on a TV set Terminating the Connection 1 On the [oWi-Fi on] screen, select [Disconnect,exit]. If the [oWi-Fi on] screen is not displayed, select the [51] tab 9 [Wireless communication settings] 9 [Wi-Fi function]. On the displayed screen, select an image size, then press <0>. [Send]. 5 Select The selected images will be sent. On the screen to complete the process for sending the image, select [OK] to terminate the connection and return to the screen to select a Web service.
Sending Images to a Web Service While connected to a Web service, a picture cannot be taken even if the camera’s shutter button is pressed. RAW images cannot be sent. When sending an image to a Web service other than CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, a send error message may not be displayed even if the image was not sent to the Web service successfully. Such errors can be checked on the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY site; check the error content, then try sending the image again.
17 Reconnecting and Adding Settings This section explains how to reconnect the camera to the device for which you set up a connection and how to register multiple connection settings.
Reconnecting The camera can reconnect to a Wi-Fi function for which connection settings have been registered. 1 Select [Wi-Fi function]. Set [Wi-Fi/NFC] to [Enable], then select [Wi-Fi function]. the Wi-Fi function to 2 Select connect to. Press the or keys to select an item, then press <0>. When you select [m], a screen to select a Web service is displayed. Depending on the selected Web service, the [Send to] screen is displayed.
Reconnecting 4 Operate the target device. q Smartphone Activate the smartphone’s Wi-Fi function, then start Camera Connect. If the smartphone’s connection destination has been changed, restore the setting to connect to the camera or the same access point as the camera. z Connecting to Another Camera Perform the reconnection procedure on the target camera as well. By default, settings are named after the nickname of the camera that was connected to.
Reconnecting Reconnecting from Quick Control You can use Quick Control to reconnect to Wi-Fi functions for which connection destination settings have been registered. Two functions are available for reconnection from Quick Control: [q] (Connect to smartphone) and [D] (Remote control (EOS Utility)). Set the Mode Dial to the Creative Zone before reconnecting. the button. 1 Press The Quick Control screen will appear. [ ] (Wi-Fi function).
Registering Multiple Connection Settings You can register up to three connection settings for each Wi-Fi function. 1 Select [Wi-Fi function]. Checking, Changing, or Deleting Connection Settings Check, change, or delete connection settings saved on the camera. To change or delete the settings, terminate the connection first. 1 Select [Wi-Fi function]. Set [Wi-Fi/NFC] to [Enable], then select [Wi-Fi function]. the item to check settings 2 Select for. Clearing Wireless Communication Settings All wireless communication settings can be deleted. By deleting the wireless communication settings, you can prevent them from being exposed when you lend or give your camera to other people. 1 Select [Clear settings]. Set [Wi-Fi/NFC] to [Enable], then select [Clear settings] and press <0>. [OK]. 2 Select [Wireless communication settings] are cleared and the menu screen will reappear.
View Info Screen On the [View info] screen, you can check the error content and the MAC address. 1 Select [Wi-Fi function]. Change the camera’s IP address to avoid using the same address as another device on the network. Otherwise, change the IP address of the device that has a duplicate address.
Responding to Error Messages 61: Selected SSID wireless LAN network not found Are any obstacles blocking the line of sight between the camera and the antenna of the access point? Move the antenna of the access point to a position clearly visible from the point of view of the camera (p.160). What to check on the camera Does the SSID set on the camera match that of the access point? Check the SSID at the access point, then set the same SSID on the camera (p.72).
Responding to Error Messages 63: Wireless LAN authentication failed Are the camera and the access point set to use the same authentication method? The camera supports the following authentication methods: [Open system], [Shared key], and [WPA/WPA2-PSK] (p.62). Are the camera and the access point set to use the same encryption key for authentication? The setting is case-sensitive, so check upper- and lower-case characters.
Responding to Error Messages 65: Wireless LAN connection lost Are any obstacles blocking the line of sight between the camera and the antenna of the access point? Move the antenna of the access point to a position clearly visible from the point of view of the camera (p.160). The wireless connection was lost, for some reason, and the connection cannot be restored.
Responding to Error Messages 68: Cannot connect to wireless LAN terminal. Retry from the beginning. Did you hold down the access point's WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button for the specified period of time? Hold down the WPS button for the period of time instructed by the access point’s instruction manual. Are you trying to establish a connection near the access point? Try establishing the connection when both devices are within reach of each other.
Responding to Error Messages 102: Could not send files Does the card in the camera to receive data have sufficient space? Check the card in the camera to receive data. Replace the card or make sufficient space available, then try sending the data again. Is the card in the camera to receive data locked? Check the card in the camera to receive data. Release the lock, then try sending the data again. Check if the folder number of the camera to receive data is 999 and the file number 9999.
Responding to Error Messages 105: Could not receive files. Card’s write protect switch is set to lock Is the card in the camera to receive data locked? Check the card in the camera to receive data. Release the lock, then try sending the data again. 106: Could not receive files. Folder and file number have reached maximum value Check if the folder number of the camera to receive data is 999 and the file number 9999. Folder or file names cannot be created automatically.
Responding to Error Messages 122: Connect to a computer, and correct the settings for the Web service with EOS software. Web service setting operation may have failed. Connect the camera and computer using an interface cable and reconfigure Web service settings using EOS Utility (p.59). 123: Cannot log in to Web service. Connect to a computer and correct the settings with EOS software.
Responding to Error Messages 127: An error has occurred A problem other than error 121 to 126 occurred during the connection to the Web service. Try connecting to the Web service again. 141: Printer is busy. Try connecting again. Is the printer performing a printing process? Connect to the printer again after the printing process is finished.
Troubleshooting Guide If a problem occurs with the camera, first refer to this Troubleshooting Guide. If this Troubleshooting Guide does not resolve the problem, contact your dealer or nearest Canon Service Center. A device connected with an interface cable cannot be used. During a wireless LAN connection, you cannot use the camera by connecting it to Connect Station, a computer, a GPS receiver, or another device with a cable. Terminate the wireless LAN connection before connecting a cable.
Wireless Function Notes If the transmission rate drops, the connection is lost, or other problems occur when using the wireless functions, try the following corrective actions. Access Point and Antenna Installation Location When using indoors, install the device in the room where you are using the camera. Install the device higher than the camera. Install the device where people or objects do not come between it and the camera. Install the device as close to the camera as possible.
Wireless Function Notes Security If security settings have not been properly set, the following problems may occur. Transmission monitoring Third parties with malicious intent may monitor the wireless LAN transmissions and attempt to acquire the data you are sending. Unauthorized network access Third parties with malicious intent may gain unauthorized access to the network you are using to steal, modify, or destroy information.
Checking Network Settings Windows Open the Windows [Command Prompt], then type ipconfig/all and press the key. The IP address assigned to the computer is displayed, as well as the subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server information. Mac OS In Mac OS X, open the [Terminal] application, enter ifconfig -a, and press the key. The IP address assigned to the computer is indicated in the [en0] item by [inet], in the format “***.***.***.***”.

Setting IP Address Manually Set the IP address settings manually. The items displayed will differ depending on the Wi-Fi function. 1 Select [Manual setting].
