Set of 4 size U.S. 8 (5 mm) double-pointed knitting needles or size
needed to obtain gauge. Stitch marker.

INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 72 (80-88) sts. Divide sts
onto 3 needles and join in rnd,
placing marker on rst st.
1st rnd: *(K1tbl) twice. (P1tbl)
twice. Rep from * around.
Rep last rnd until work from beg
measures 6½ (7½- 8½)" [16.5 (19 -
21.5) cm].
Shape crown: 1st rnd: *(K1tbl)
twice. P2tog. Rep from * around.
54 (60-66) sts.
2nd to 4th rnds: *(K1tbl) twice.
P1tbl. Rep from * around.
5th rnd: *K2tog. P1tbl. ssk. P1tbl.
Rep from * around. 36 (40-44) sts.
6th rnd: *K1tbl. P1tbl. Rep from *
around.
7th rnd: *K2tog. ssk. Rep from *
around. 18 (20 - 22) sts.
8th rnd: *K2tog. Rep from *
around. 9 (10-11) sts.
Break yarn, leaving a long end.
Thread end through rem sts and
fasten securely.
