Getting Ready Before printing data on the printer, you must connect it to your computer and install the printer driver. Connecting to Your Computer This section explains how to connect the printer to your computer. Printer Cable You ringed commercially available printer cable to connection the printer to & personal computer. The type of cable you need depends on what kind of computer you have.

Driver Settings This section tells you how to display the DP-8000 Properties dialog and the settings that are available in the dialog. Important! + The DP-8000 Printer and printer driver can be used with a computer running Windows 95 or Windows 3.1 only. « All printing is performed on AB size paper. » The driver settings you make remain in effect until you change them.
Common Buttons The following buttons are common to all or most of the tabs. {OK] Click this button to send all the settings you have made to the printer, and close the DP-8000 Properties dialog. {Cancel] Click this button to close the DP-8000 Properties dialog, without sending anything to the printer. [Help] Click this button to display on-line help. {Defaults] Click this button to display all the settings of the current tab to their standard defaults.
[Resolution] If you specified “i80486 or lower” as your computer's CPU when installing the driver, this setting is automatically set to “Standard,” and you do not need to change it. With a 80486 66MHz or higher, Pentium or higher CPU, click the arrow to display a list of available resolutions. [Standard] prints at 150 dpi, while [High Resolution] prints at about 300 dpi. Note that {High Resolution] printing is slower than [Standard] printing. -+ See “Setting the Resolution from an Application” on page E-12.

Paper sizes you can set differ according to the application you are using. See the documentation that comes with your l I application for details. | Print Progress Display I The color of the progress bar changes as data is sent to the DP-8000.
Error Messages The following shows all of the buttons associate with each error message. Note, however, that under certain conditions all of the buttons associated with an error message may not appear along with it. [Stop]: Stops printing [Retry): Tries to print again Insert (standard paper/sticker paper)”. Could not print due to abnormal RAW data, RAW data filch contents may be damaged.
