Garmin GMA 347 Audio
The GMA 347 audio panel offers the latest in digi-
tal features to streamline cockpit management and
improve communication, including a digital voice re-
corder, automatic squelch and full-duplex telephone
interface.
Operate with Ease
The GMA 347 features LED-illuminated button con-
trols for audio selection of nav and com audio as
well as split comm capability for pilot and co-pilot. Split
comm allows the pilot to transmit/receive on Comm 1
and the co-pilot to transmit/receive on Comm 2.
Enjoy A Host of Features
The GMA 347 provides MASQ processing, reducing
ambient noise from the avionics inputs, and it has spe-
cial cabin noise filtering circuitry to enhance cockpit
communications. Select speakers to monitor the air-
craft radios or make PA announcements. Also includes
comm transmit indication, three-light Marker Beacon
receiver/indicator and SmartMute audio muting.
Never Miss a Message
The GMA 347’s digital voice recorder continuously
captures the last two and one-half minutes of audio
switched through the panel. So if you ever miss an as-
signed frequency or part of a clearance, simply press
the “Play” button to recall the message for review.
Filter Static and Interference
The GMA 347’s automatic squelch option filters out
radio static and interference. Manual squelch adjust-
ment is available for faint, far-off audio signals.
Make Private Phone Calls
The GMA 347 even includes a full-duplex telephone
interface with intercom isolation and disable capabil-
ity. This feature allows private telephone calls by the
pilot or copilot, or multi-party calls with crew and/or
passengers. The GMA 347 also comes with three more
unmuted, unswitched inputs with individual volume
control for additional audio capabilities.

Right: S-TEC Fifty-Five X Autopilot System
S-TEC 55X Autopilot
The S-TEC 55X is a high-performance, two-axis (roll
& pitch) autopilot in an avionics stackmounted case,
containing the mode selector/programmer, annuncia-
tor, roll & pitch computers, and servo amplifiers in a
single unit. S-TEC 55X features include:
1. HDG (heading) mode & heading preselect
and hold. Autopilot operates in heading mode to
automatically intercept and track selected course or
localizer; at which point HDG extinguishes.
2. Control wheel steering (CWS). Hand-fly the
aircraft and then let the autopilot takeover to hold
the existing turn rate and vertical speed.
3. NAV mode (coupled navigation). Automatically
intercepts and tracks enroute NAV signals with 3-
level gain automatic selection.
4 . GPSS (GPS Steering). Utilizes direct roll steering
commands for accurate, hands-off GPS navigation.
5. TRIM and up/down arrows.
6. Pitch Mode.
7. Dedicated Mode selector buttons.
8. VS knob. Dials digital vertical speed in 100’ incre-
ments.

Garmin G500 Multi-Function Flight Display Suite
Designed specifically for FAR Part 23 Class
1/Class 2 aircraft (singles and twins less than
6,000 lbs.), G500 is an affordable, dual-
screen electronic flight display that works
with your avionics stack to provide a fully
certified “glass cockpit” retrofit option
Replaces your “six-pack” with
twin screens
The G500’s 10-inch wide bezel fits neatly
into the panel space vacated by your standard
six-pack of mechanical 3-inch flight instru-
ments. (The existing airspeed indicator, arti-
ficial horizon and altimeter can be relocated
to serve as standby instrumentation.)
Dual side-by-side 6.5-inch LCDs put both Primary
Flight Display (PFD) and Multifunction Display (MFD)
capabilities directly in your field of view. You’ll see real-
time True Airspeed calculations and selectable Winds
Aloft data – as well as aircraft ground speed, GPS active
waypoint, distance-to-waypoint, desired/actual track,
and more.
On the left-hand side, the PFD integrates primary
situational information regarding your aircraft’s posi-
tion, speed, attitude, vertical rate, altitude and flight
progress.
It’s all about situational awareness
The right-hand side MFD provides detailed moving-
map graphics of your aircraft’s current position in rela-
tion to ground features, chart data, navaids, flight plan
routings and more. Initial Garmin FliteCharts® and
SafeTaxi® come pre-installed (the charts will disable
when the data is over 6 months out-of-date). And built-
in terrain and U.S. obstacles databases provide color-
coding and other visual cues to graphically alert you
when proximity conflicts loom ahead. G500 operation
is simple with familiar rotary knob for data entry, soft-
keys for mode selection, front-loading SD card slot for
additional data and updates, plus an easy-to-navigate
G1000-like graphical user interface.
Experience the AHRS advantage
In place of sensitive gyro instruments, the G500
uses Garmin’s super-reliable GRS 77 Attitude and
Heading Reference System (AHRS). Combining inputs
from GPS, magnetometer and air data computer, the
Garmin AHRS provides an accurate digital referencing
of your aircraft’s dynamic orientation in space. Also,
unlike some competitive attitude/heading sensors, it’s
even able to restart and properly realign itself while the
aircraft is moving.
Synch up with your autopilot
Garmin’s G500 is a perfect match for the S-TEC 55X
Autopilot, utilizing AHRS to provide attitude information
to the autopilot. Instead of traditional gyro-mechanical
ADI output, far more reliable AHRS data is used to pro-
vide the attitude, heading, yaw input, baro correction,
and alerting cues to the autopilot. This eliminates the
need to keep the costly-to-maintain gyro ADI as an au-
topilot reference for the G500 glass cockpit.
Add weather, traffic and more
Better-informed weather and traffic decisions can be
yours with the GDL 69/69A series XM receiver. It offers
up-to-the-moment weather data and NEXRAD coverage
for the U.S. and much of Canada, via XM Satellite Radio
datalink (XM subscription required). The optional GDL
69A lets you enjoy over 170 channels of inflight digital
audio programming with a subscription to XM Radio.
And for help in watching nearby traffic, you can access
Traffic Information Service (TIS) alerts on your G600
with the GTX 330 Mode S transponder.
