7. Reattach the clear suction hose to the pump. (A) Securely
tighten the clamp of the clear hydraulic hose with either a flat
head screw driver or 6mm socket
(Torque to 2.9-4.4 ft lbs.).

8. Using your fingers, open the hydraulic vent screw by turning it
counter clockwise approximately 2-3 times. (B)

9. Remove dipstick and add 115 fl. oz (3.4 L) of hydraulic oil -
ISO 32. Check the hydraulic oil level using dipstick. Oil level
should be between the two marks on the dipstick.

10. Start engine and purge air from hydraulic system.

Follow the service intervals indicated in the following maintenance
schedule.
Service your log splitter more frequently when operating in
adverse conditions.

Check engine and hydraulic oil levels
Clean around air intake and muffler
FIRST 5 HOURS
Change oil
EVERY 50 HOURS OR EVERY SEASON
Clean air filter
Change oil if operating under heavy load or in hot
environments
EVERY 100 HOURS OR EVERY SEASON
Change oil
Clean/adjust spark plug
Check/adjust valve clearance*
Clean spark arrestor
Clean fuel tank and filter*
Change hydraulic oil
Change hydraulic oil filter (where applicable)
EVERY 250 HOURS
Clean combustion chamber*
EVERY YEAR
Inspect wheel bearings and repack bearing grease as
needed.
EVERY 3 YEARS
Replace fuel line*
* To be performed by knowledgeable, experienced owners or CPE certified service
centers.
