Once assembled, lay out and construct the plywood countertop. If tiling, we suggest two layers of ¾” thick treated plywood, topped with ½” thick cement board. Install ½” thick cement backerboard to the inside areas of the grill head and side burner cut-out areas, as instructed in the product installation manuals. 10 1 5/8” ” /2 29 1 36 11/16” Overall dimensions shown. Thickness of countertop tile will add to these dimensions If you are planning to use brick veneer siding, install ½” thick cement board to all exterior surfaces. Follow specific manufacturers instructions for installing cement board and brick veneer.
These two openings are for island ventilation associated with the gas appliances it contains. Do not cover them with cement backer board. Instead, install a vent grille or similar screening material. FROM HERE... At this point, you’re free to install your countertop & clad the exterior with masonry, metal or wood. Once your materials have been applied and set, finish it up by installing your grilling components using the manufacturer specified instructions.
