CoolingSystem
1. Placethevehicleonalevelledsurface.
2. Checkthecoolantlevelinthecoolantreservoir.Theenginemustbecoldasthecoolantlevelwill
varywithenginetemperature.
3. Ifthecoolantisatorbelowtheminimumlevelmark,removethereservoircap,addcoolantto
the
maximumlevelmark, andinstallthereservoircap.
NOTE:Thecoolantshouldbebetweentheminimumandmaximumlevelmarks.

Don’tremovetheradiatorcapwhentheengineandradiatorarestillhot.Itcouldresultinburnrelated
injuries.Waitfortheenginetocoolbeforeremovingtheradiatorcap.Alwaysuseathickragoverthe
cap.Allowanyremainingpressuretoescapebeforecompletelyremovingthecap.
ThrottleSystem
Failuretocheckormaintainproperoperationofthethrottlesystemcanresultinanaccidentandleadto
seriousinjuryordeathifthethrottlepedalsticksduringoperation.Neverstartoroperatethisvehicleif
ithasastickingorimproperlyoperatingthrottlepedal.Immediatelycontactyourdealer
forserviceif
throttleproblemsarise.Alwayscheckthepedalforfreemovementandreturnbeforestartingthe
engine.
ThrottleFreeplay
Ifthethrottlepedalhasexcessiveplayormaladjustments,itwillcauseadelayin throttleresponse,
especiallyatlowenginespeed.Ifthethrottlepedalhasnofree
play,thethrottlemaybehardtocontrol
andtheidlespeedmaybeerratic.Checkthethrottlepedalfreeplayattheintervalsoutlinedinthe
PeriodicMaintenanceChartbeginningonpage32.Adjustthefreeplayifnecessary.
ThrottleFreeplayInspection
1. Placethetransmissioninneutral.Set
theparkingbrake.
2. Starttheengine.Allowittowarmupthoroughly.
3. Measurethedistancethet hrottlepedalmovesbeforetheenginebeginstopickupspeed.Free
playshouldbe1/16to1/8inches(1.53mm).
