CleaningandStorage

WashingtheVehicle

Keepingyourvehiclecleanwillnotonlyimproveitsappearancebutitcanalsoextendthelifeofvarious

components.Beforewashingthevehicle,youmustpayattentioninordertopreventthewaterfrom

enteringinsidetheCTVsystemfromtheCVTinletandoutletducts.

NOTICE:

WaterintheCVTsystemcouldcausethedrivebelttobecomewetandslipintheclutches.

AlwaysavoidsprayingwaterdirectlytowardtheCVTinletandoutletductswhenwashingthevehicle.

Highwaterpressuremaydamagecomponents.Werecommendwashingthevehiclebyhandorwitha

gardenhose,usingmildsoap.Certainproducts,includinginsectrepellentsandchemicals,willdamage

plasticsurfaces.Donotallowthesetypesofproductstocontactthevehicle.

Thebestandsafestwaytocleanyourvehicleiswithagardenhoseandapailofmildsoapandwater.

1. Use

aprofessional‐typewashingcloth,cl eaningtheupperbodyfirstandthelowerpartslast.

2. Rinsewithcleanwaterfrequently.

3. Drysurfaceswithachamoistopreve ntwaterspots.

 

Storage

Longtermstorage(60daysormore)ofyourmachinewillrequiresomepreventiveprocedurestoguard

against

deterioration.Afterthoroughlycleaningthemachine,prepareforstorageasfollows:

1. Drainthefuelsystem.

2. Removethesparkplug,pouraboutonetablespoonofSAE10W30or20W40motoroilinthe

sparkplugholeandreinstallthesparkplug.Groundthesparkplugwireandturnthe

engine

overseveraltimestocoatthecylinderwallwithoil.

3. Blockuptheframetoraiseallwheelsofftheground.

4. Tieaplasticbagovertheexhaustpipeoutlettopreventmoisturefromentering.

5. Ifstoringinahumidorsalt‐airatmosphere,coatallexposed

metalsurfaceswithalightfilmof

oil.Donotapplyoiltoanyrubberpartsortheseatcover.

6. Removethebatteryandchargeit.Storeitinadryplaceandrechargeitonceamonth.Donot

storethebatteryinanexcessivelywarmorcold

place(lessthan0°C(30°F)or morethan30°C

(90°F)).


