A5 - TROUBLE SHOOTING
For all faults always call the manufacture or the authorized service centre in your country. Never return an analyzer directly to
the manufacturer before consulting them first and obtaining their specific instructions. Please find below the most common
problems that could occur and which can be easily solved:
PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS:
P: The analyzer does not work or is working incorrectly even if it is connected to the mains:
S: Verify that the ”MAINS” [24] green LED is on. If it is not on control the ac/ac adapter supplied with your analyzer.
P: The batteries can not be charged:
S: Verify that when the meter is off the "MAINS” [24] and “BAT CHRG” [15a/b] LED’s are on. Verify the internal battery
status.
P: There is poor picture quality or the picture does not appear:
S: Check that the “BRIGHT [33] and “CONTRAST[32] trimmers, found on the left side of the instrument, are adjusted
correctly (see page 73).
P: The analyzer does not respond to the commands:
S: In the rare cases that the analyzer no longer responds to the front panel commands, keep the ON/RESET [24] button
pressed for 10 seconds. No information is lost during this operation (e.g. memory plans, data logger, etc.)
P: During battery charging the BAT FULL [15a] LED turns on immediately:
S: There could be a problem with the batteries, contact the service for further information.
P: With weak TV signals or signals with lots of interferences, the TV pictures can not be tuned:
S: Exclude the OSD and reactivate it; it should lock
P: The graphics (words) do not tune during the frequency tuning of analog and SAT & TV programmes:
S: Disconnect the RF input signal for a few seconds and the words should become stable.
NOTES:
To report any faults, photocopy and fill-in the attached “FAULT IDENTIFICATION FORM” and send it to the
manufacturer.
As the meter is very complex, we strongly advise that repairs should only be carried out by expert staff, authorized by
the manufacturer.
The analyzer is built almost completely using SMD components and it is therefore not easy to repair; for this reason the
manufacturer. does not provide any circuit diagrams.
If the manufacturer considers that the analyzer has to be returned for repair, photocopy and fill-in the “EQUIPMENT
REPAIR and/or Service Form” and attach it to the meter when returning it.
