Power Try one-half (1⁄2) watt first if the station being called is within a few miles. If there is no answer, switch to a higher power. This will conserve your battery and minimize interference to other users.

Calls can be made — for a fee — between your VHF radio and telephones on land, sea, and in the air. See pages 12 through 21 for the public correspondence (marine operator) channels.

Insert NiCD batteries (part No. NiCB) in the battery compartment. (See page 25 for installing batteries.) 2. Open the charge tab on the side of the unit. 3. Insert the plug into the charge jack. 4. Plug power supply in to an electrical outlet. A full charge will take approximately 15 hours.
