1.2 Installation Overview
The system installation process is summarized in the following table. Refer also to the
system cable diagram in Figure 4-1 on page 47.
1.3 Manufacturer’s Declaration
The Manufacturer’s Declaration of Incorporation and Conformity for Adept robot

1. Mount the robot on a flat, secure mounting surface. See Section 3.5 on page 40.
2. Install the PLC Server, the Front Panel and any
user-supplied equipment such as the PLC, PLC
User Interface and PLC programming software.

3. Install the IEEE 1394 and XSYS cables between
the robot and PLC Server.

4. Install the null-modem serial cable between the
user-supplied PLC and the PLC Server.

5. Create a 24 VDC cable and connect it between the
robot and the user-supplied 24 VDC power supply.
