Cooper Bussmann BU-905U-L Wireless I/O Configuration Manual
BU-905U-L-R RECEIVER INFORMATION
This section contains specific information for configuring your BU-905U-L-R unit.
Handling Communication Failures by Setting Output Reset Times
Unit output reset times allow you to configure the outputs to turn off if they do not receive an update message within a certain time.
The output is reset to a zero value if it does not receive an update message within the configured time. The output is turned off for
discrete outputs. For analog outputs, the output is actually set to -4mA internally, however the lowest current at the output is 0mA
As well as resetting the output, the front panel LED for the output flashes quickly to indicate communication failure.
If any output is reset because of an output reset timeout, the global communication fail status output is also activated.
NOTE: Setting the output reset time to zero is the same as disabling the output reset. The BU-905U-L-R will retain the current output
value indefinitely although no messages are received from the transmitting unit when the output reset is disabled.
To set unit output reset times:
1. Open the project.
2. Select the unit you want to change.
3. Select Output Reset Times.
4. Double click the time you want to change or select the time and click Edit Update Time.
NOTE: You can also Shift+Click and Ctrl+Click to select multiple times before you click Edit Update Time. This allows you to set several
timers to the same value quickly. For example:
5. BU-Config will write the new output reset times to the module the next time you configure the module.
