TO CROSS CUT OR RIP CUT
When making a cross cut or rip cut, align your line of cut
with the outer blade guide notch on the saw base as
shown in figure 17.

GUIDE NOTCH
A widthof cutscale has been provided on the base of
yoursaw. When making straightcrosscuts or ripcuts,the
scale canbe used to measure up to four inchesto the
rightsideof the blade. Itcan be used to measure up to
one inchto the leftside of the blade.
RIP GUIDE (EDGE GUIDE)
Usethe rip guide providedwith yoursaw when making
wide ripcuts.A five inchscale has been providedonthe
ripguide. When usingthewidth of cut scale on the base
incombinationwith the dp guide, cutscan be made up to
6 in.to the leftof the rip guideor 8-7/8 in. to the right of
the ripguide.
The ripguide helps preventthe blade from twistingin a
out.The bladetwisting in a cut can cause kickback.

Remove batterypack from saw.
WARNING: Failure to remove batterypackfrom
saw could resultin accidentalstartingcausing
possiblesenouspersonal injury.

Since blade thicknesses vary, always make a trial cut in
scrap matedal along a guideline to determine how much,
if any, the guideline must be offset to produce an accurate
cut.
Note: The distance from the line of cut to the guideline is
the amount you should offset the guideline.

When usinga rip guide, positionthe face ofthe rip guide
firmly againstthe edge of workpieca.This makes for a
true cutwithoutpinchingthe blade. The guidingedge of
workpiecomust be straightfor your cutto be straight. Use
cautionto preventthe blade from bindinginthe cut.
