Keep duct run as short as possible.
Whenever possible, use round duct instead of rectangle.
Do not use back to back elbows24" minimum between elbows.
Do not use flex duct.
Do not use duct smaller then the recommended sizeand never reduce!
Seal ductwork with duct tape and use screws to support weight.
Match roof or wall cap with duct size.
In Pro, Island cooking, we recommend you oversize the hood a minimum of 6".
Support and insulate duct to reduce all noise and vibration.
DOS & DONT’S
Hoods: EH/EHR/MH - Bottom of the hood should be 25” minimum above
the cooktop surface. DHI, DHW, PHW - Bottom of the hood should
be 30” minimum above the cooktop surface.
PowerPacks (with SS Liner): Bottom of liner should be 36" from the
finished counter.
OTR (above electric cooking): Top of microwave should be 34" above
the finished counter.
OTR (above gas cooking): Top of microwave should be 36" above the
finished counter. (36" mandatory above ERD30, ER30D, ER30DSR and
EGR30)

In hoods or Powerpacks, if you must install the hood higher than the recommended

CFM) to provide the best possible ventilation.
