This display shows the following information.

Total number of MSDP peers The number of MSDP peers configured on the Layer 3 Switch
IP Address The IP address of the peer interface with the Layer 3 Switch
State The state of the MSDP router connection with the peer. The state can be one
of the following:
CONNECT – The session is in the active open state.
ESTABLISH – The MSDP session is fu5lly up.
IDLE – The session is idle or inactive.
LISTEN – The session is in the passive open state.
Keep Alive Time The keep alive time, which specifies how often this MSDP router sends keep
alive messages to the neighbor. The keep alive time is 60 seconds and is not
configurable.
Hold Time The hold time, which specifies how many seconds the MSDP router will wait for
a KEEPALIVE or UPDATE message from an MSDP neighbor before deciding that
the neighbor is dead. The hold time is 90 seconds and is not configurable.
Keep Alive Message Sent The number of Keep Alive messages the MSDP router has sent to the peer.
Keep Alive Message Received The number of Keep Alive messages the MSDP router has received from the
peer.
Notifications Sent The number of Notification messages the MSDP router has sent to the peer.
Notifications Received The number of Notification messages the MSDP router has received from the
peer.
Source-Active Sent The number of Source Active messages the MSDP router has sent to the peer.
Source-Active Received The number of Source Active messages the MSDP router has received from the
peer.
Last Connection Reset Reason The reason the previous session with this neighbor ended.
Notification Message Error Code
Received
If the MSDP router receives a NOTIFICATION messages from the neighbor, the
message contains an error code corresponding to one of the following errors.
Some errors have subcodes that clarify the reason for the error. Where
applicable, the subcode messages are listed underneath the error code
messages:
1 – Message Header Error
2 – SA-Request Error
3 – SA-Message/SA-Response Error
4 – Hold Timer Expired
5 – Finite State Machine Error
6 – Notification
7 – Cease
