Next steps
1. Install the drives.
2. Install the drive cage cover.
3. Install the drive cage into the drive cage slot in the chassis.
Installing a 2.5-inch cabled drive into the drive cage
Prerequisites
NOTE:
To identify the drive, see the label on the drive cable. For more information, see Drive Specifications in the
PowerEdge C4140 Technical Specs at .www.dell.com/poweredgemanuals.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2. Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.
3. Remove the 2.5-inch drive cage.
4. Remove the 2.5-inch drive cage cover.
Steps
To install drive 0 and drive 1, perform the following steps:
a. Slide drive 1 into the drive cage.
b. Lower drive 0 into the drive cage.
c. Secure the drives to the drive cage by using the screws.

NOTE:
If the 2.5-inch drive has Torx screw, use Torx 6 screwdriver to secure the drives to the drive cage.
Connect the power and signal cable to the drives.
NOTE: Ensure that the connector labeled HDD0 is plugged into upper drive before reinstalling bay.
